Hula-hooping

I didn't find any topics on this, sorry if a topic on this exists already.

Do Hula-hoops help in slimming the body in any way? Not the hula hoops with knobs on the inside, but the original hula hoops?

I'm trying to lose some weight on the stomach....I've already been eating healthier....

But I'm not an outdoor or sports person....so jogging, tennis, swimming won't do any good..... since I'm stuck at home most of the days. I've been trying to do sit-ups....... but its a pain....and so hard for me... i'm so unfit, the last time I did sit ups was coz of sports lessons like 3-4 yrs ago!! tongue.gif

I think it's effective... but you really need to spend at least 15 minutes each day. And it'll take some time.

Remember not to hula-hoop right after meals though... I tried once and my stomach hurt like hell. pinch.gif

I think i can loose some weight but the hula hoops with the nobs inside are more effective.

Any physical activity will burn calories, which will in turn help you to lose fat, when coupled with a proper diet. I'm not entirely sure how many calories you will burn with hula-hooping, though—a more aerobic activity such as running, tennis, racquetball, and so forth might be more effective—but it should help some.

However, it's not specifically hula-hooping, but just physical activity in general, that loses fat; meaning that no activity can target fat on specific areas of your body, such as your stomach.

Yea, I heard that the hula hoop with knobs are effective, I borrowed it off my frd once, it hurt so much..... u can see bruises.... >.<"

But I dun own any of those kind of hula hoops, i onli have the normal one from like ages ago, maybe I'll buy the one with knobs next time.

i know the knob ones work. i had my own record of 47 minutes and 20 seconds hula hooping. shifty.gif

Seems painful :(

With diet and excercise you can loose weight. Now I'm not sure how much you can tone your stomach with JUST hula hooping, but I think you'd target a portion of your lower and upper abs. If you refuse to go jogging or doing situps you can always use those oversized balls and do the stomach excercises on them, They really work.
Search on google for it, i'm sure you've seen people do it on tv. It's really affective.
If you really are serious about loosing weight i would encourage you to do some cardio. (running, biking, swimming), Something to get your heart pumping.

But yeah, it does help you get slimmer.

HAHA, its not! my aunt has one and i use to play on it all the time. it felt good. =]

my aunt hulahoops a lot and she said it really helped her lose weight around her stomach area. She does it A LOT though... so it's not just like a couple times a week... it's for a long time every day.

it should help. my mom bought one for me cause her friend lost weight after using it for a while. in order for it to work, you have to have motivation...15 minutes a day should work.
