What accents (I hope I spelt that properly) do you find
either annoying or funny.

Californian "dude" accent can be VERy annoying, ESPECIALLY when people try to impersonate it. "My Name is Earl" made me laugh at the Sweish accent, and Groundskeeper Willie can make me laugh at the Scottish accent.

Altough, I shouldn't complain, I talk faster than Eddie Murphy.

my cousins, who live in ny, have this accent... it's not an asian accent, but it's not exactly a newyorker accent, either.
but i've noticed that ALL korean teens who go to church speak this way.
it's SO ANNOYING.

let's just call it a 'korean accent'.
korean accents are so moothereffing annoying.

^ Props for recognizing it. It's spelled Russell.

Anyway, hey idiot kids, he asked what accents you find funny or annoying. Not hot. There are other threads on that. I don't know if the mods want to just merge them.

I find it rude that people make fun of kids with accents.
It's not their fault the just are from a different country w/ a different language.
Like today this spanish girl was trying to say the name Deon (pronounced Dee on) and it came out Dee lan.
Then all these kids started mocking her.
I'm like shut up it's not her fault.
And some other kid was saying this girl from Iran was stupid so I told them to back off that she was really smart which she was.
I can't beleive how people can be so prejudice mad.gif

I'm a Californian girl, and I'm told I have a very faint New Jersey accent, despite the fact that I've lived here my entire life. (I have no idea what they're talking about.)

Perhaps it's because I'm Chinese and I'm pretty used to listening to it that it doesn't get on my nerves.

I find it pretty annoying when a lot of the teachers speak English in that way. Sad, in fact.

And... the way non-native people try to speak Mandarin/Cantonese... it's hilarious. laugh.gif

I can't believe no one has said this, but I can't stand that "middle-of-no-where/grew-up-on-a-farm" accent found in southern Oklahoma, northern and western Texas, and all of Arkansas. I grew up in Arkansas and when I moved to Tulsa everyone made fun of me, and it just sorta went away over time. Now I hate to hear anyone (including my mom) talk like that.

Chinese accents.
We had a chinese substitute for our A.P. algebra class in 7th grade. She was there for about a month because our teachers wife had a kid or something.
We didn't know if she was saying "55" or "that's fine".

Australian bugs me.... but not that much. i never really thought about ppl's accents

What bugs me the most is when people that aren't from Australia try to sound Australian. There's a commercial where I live that is just awful and almost insulting.

And about the joke.. Say it out loud in the worst possible Australian accent - "home to die"

Yeah, I don't get that joke either..hmm..

Uhm, I pretty much like all accents and don't really find them funny. Except for maybe southern accents. Now, those are annoying.

Aussie: You can go home today

What you hear: You can go home to die.

It's pretty funny, at first I hear it
