Happy Birthday to Him (:

Celebrate what he has done for not only black people, but everyone who struggled with race equality. Without him, I dont think not one of us can imagine how the world ( or at least, the US ) would be.

^ Actually we should say happy to celebrate his great influence on the civil rights movement. Less mourning, more celebrating.

He was a good man! =]

Actually, when some people die, others choose to celebrate the life that they lived rather than mourn the loss. It is not celebrating the fact that he died exactly but more of just celebrating the fact that yes, he did die, he's in a better place, and the life he lived was amazing.
It's putting a more positive spin on his death.

If it wasn't for him I most likely wouldn't be in the wonderful relationship I am.

Happy Birthday.

at school we had an interesting assembly for him. we didn't just focus on him... but what came out of what he did. so we had a diversity sort of thing, with different flags and culture music and stuff.

he's a great man.. i'm hispanic.. he did alot for us too..

thank god he and many others stood up for us... us hispanics would have been to lazy to go fight for our rights, thats why you ain't see any of us doing anything.. we weren't much of a majority then tho...

i'd imagine if were to do something, it be a new civil war with hispanics shanking everyone...

lol im jk..

haha my dad went to work on martin luther king jr day, and I asked why he didn't take the day off like everyone else.

he replied:"Well, I'm not black, so it's not my holiday."

i find that funny. i don't know why.

Happy Late Birthday.

I thought his birthday was January 15. Like when I was in 3rd grade. His birthday was marked in the same birthday as I was... it's weird after when I turned 13. They changed it to January 16 -_-

Hispanics are also the largest ethnic minority with 13.7% in the country..

by 2050, hispanics are expected to be 24% of the nation's population.

Did you guys hear how Marion Barry (or however you spell it) moved the Martin Luther King Jr. parade?

That made me pretty angry. I think it's disrespectful to his memory, especially since he originally moved it to APRIL FOOL'S DAY. He only moved it the second time because he got pressure from everyone else.

Stupid dumbutt.
