Is it me or do you find it SICK when a 19 year old girl can't go out after 6:00 PM?
A friend of mine is like that, she's from Vietnam (if that contributes to anything) and her parents won't let her go out after 6:00 PM...We hardly see eachother on weekends... stubborn.gif

That is just like me, but the only difference is my age, I am 15, not 19. Well, in this case, it is quite strict for Asian parents to do that to an adult.

Her parents might be very strict.
Or perhaps she has a bad past, and her parents can't trust her that much anymore.
Or perhaps her parents were brought up that way so they just reat her the same way they were treated when they were young.

that's not strict, that's like...over the edge. she's an adult now and can make her own decisions. if i was her i'd talk to my parents about it and threaten to move out if my curfew isn't extended.

Though. If she's 19 and still living with her parents. I guess she deserves it. happy.gif

I think that is a little too strict, her parents should go a little easy on her. She's old enough to handle herself.

yeah... the being from vietnam thing does kinda contribute to that topic... i mean, i have crazy asian parents... not from vietnam, but it's just the fact that they're asian. they've got all these crazy ideals. my parents assume that i do all kinds of crazy shit even if i don't. the other day, my mom was like "PSH! I'VE SEEN WHAT YOU STUPID TEENAGERS DO ON TV!!! I KNOW IT FOR A FACT! ALL THAT DRINKING AT 7! YOU THINK I DON'T KNOW YOU, BUT I DO!!!" -.-' wtf. yeah... if she's been watching those college drinking party videos and whatnot... goddamn... blink.gif yeah, it's crazy crap like that that makes my mom goes all crazy make up all these irrational assumptions about things she really doesn't know. I mean yeah, there are teenagers that go drinking. oh well. she just doesn't need to label those bad stereotypes on everyone in our age group. _dry.gif

shes an adult. If she wants to go out, she should. That liek my friend. hes in college, but when he comes home all of a sudden I'll and be like, lets go do bla bla, oh I cant my mom doesnt want me out past yadda ya. I'm like dude youre 20!! Start acting like it!! And her parents can't send her to vietnam to get married. She legally cannot be forced to anywhere unless shes here illegally. So if they want to send to to get married, she can pick up and go somewhere else. Period. That like my boyfriend, his dad keeps threatening to send him to bot camp for diciplinary reason (not making as in college) and its like dude, youre 22, he cant send you anywhere.

your parents' rules don't really make much sense, what's the point in making all those rules if you can just break them once you're out the door?

if she saves up enough money and gets a stable job, she can move out. if she moves out, she's independant and on her own. unless they track her down, kidnap her, somehow ship her off to vietnam and force her to stay there and get married, which hopefully isn't too likely.

i will be 18 soon and the only reason i'm allowed to stay out until 9:30 is because of my school schedule, which started a few months ago in september. it used to be 8 and my mom would still complain that 8 is way too late for any girl to stay out. it's not that my parents are strict, it's just that they're closed minded and kind of blind. we live in new york city and they don't believe that girls stay out later than 8pm!
