so, we got a trojan virus today and had to wipe everything off of our computer and then got all the old stuff that comes with microsoft back, but we have to go through and upload all the devices. now what im asking is if someone could tell me preferably step by step how to install it because none of the music will play unless its installed. thanks.

you probably need to install your sound card driver.
do you have a CD that you got with the computer that alludes to that as its contents? |

If you know the brand / model of the card go to the company's website. They should have Drivers that you can download and install which will allow your sound card to work.

What model? You may be able to look it up, and then go to the manufacturer's website. Honestly, I think the System Restore disk or other disk should have the drivers on it...

that's what the system restore disk does.
but anyways. go to control panel. there should be a speaker icon with the text "sounds and audio devices". click on the hardware tab. type everything in that list over here. |
