i have a problem with my computer.. it can't detect blank cds(made by TDK) or any of the cds that i put some of my files on(by imation, both are cd-r), but it can detect other cds. i first thought there might be problem with the cds but before, my computer could detect them but now, all of a sudden it can't.

any help would be appreciated. thanks.

you mean blank cd-r s?

how about written cd-r s?

please post:

your system (i.e.- windows xp, sp2)
your drive
your specific problem (any error messages? when did it start? etc)
all programs dealing with CDs that you have ever had on your computer.

i can't detect blank cd-r s or written ones, even though it used to detect them when they were unwritten(the written ones now).

system- windows xp
drive- DVD-CD (E)
problem- it started after i began tried using the TDK cds and afterwards, it couldn't detect TDK or imation cd-r s. and when i try to write things to the cds, it just says to insert a cd even though there's already one it the drive.
programs- the only one i've ever used is microsoft worksuite..

when you have a CD-r in the drive, and you click on it, what does it tell you?
