GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) or UT (Universal Time) is a method of referencing the time differences across the world. The GMT or UT is centered in the middle of the time zone as 12:00. Any time zone to the left of this is -GMT or -UT and any time zone to the right of this is +GMT or +UT. Below is a listing of time zone abbreviations, time zone description and the UT difference. i found all this info here click haha i would never type all this up |

^ rofl, i was going to summarize, but she beat me to it.
anyway, in simpler terms (assuming you're young), the world is separated into different time zones because of the way the earth rotates. For example, where I am in California, it's PST (Pacific Standard Time)12:26, but over in the east coast EST (Eastern Standard Time) it will be 2:26 (14:26) 13:00 is such 1:00 you keep going on the number line after 12:00 so 12:00 = 12:00 1:00 = 13:00 2:00 = 14:00 3:00 = 15:00 4:00 = 16:00 5:00 = 17:00 etc GMT is Greenwich Mean Time, but the person above me already explained that. |
