i don't mean to like copy the story about the teen who killed himself because his gaming time was limited but this story is just as insane.

Ryan Watts was charged Friday with murdering his father, 50-year-old John E. Bruner, who was initially believed to have died in the fire earlier this week. He was charged as an adult.

Watts was arrested Wednesday after an autopsy determined that Bruner died from multiple gunshot wounds and not from the fire, Santa Clara police said.

According to court documents, Watts told police he took a .45-caliber handgun from a safe in his father's bedroom and stashed it in his room shortly before the killing.

Court documents allege he shot his father in the head at close range Monday, then set the body on fire because it was too heavy to carry to the backyard, where he had planned to bury it. Watts hid the gun and went to Taco Bell before calling 911 to report the fire, the documents said.

Watts' parents apparently were separated, and he had been staying at his mother's home since the fire, police said.

If convicted, Watts faces life in prison. He is not eligible for the death penalty because he's a juvenile.

Watts is expected to enter a plea during a Dec. 22 court appearance.

This also overreacting, but how grades seem so important these days to parents, doesn't seem too surprising.
But it is outrageous.

Honestly, to kill someone, especially someone who've done so much for you, is completely stupid.

Maybe he thought of it as, "Me dead or him dead?" The arson would of been a good cover up if he didn't have shot his dad. You just can't go pointing fingers when you don't know the actual story, sorry miss.

this reminds me of a movie where teens can go wrong and end up pshyco.....a british girl in the 1950 , killing her mother with a brick on the head repeatedly with the help of her best friend . it was thought the 2 BFF were pshcologically attached . i just wished i rememer that movies name .

some people don't deserve to be called a human being.. if he had any shred of human morals, i doubt something like this can happen

killing your father over bad grades? whats the difference from that with a dog killing its owner?

^People react differently. Some kids fight back, some kids just take it as normal, some hold it all inside, some shoot their father in the head.
Everyone reacts differently.

That really is a horrible story. I'm sure there was something going on besides the grades. I'm sure the grades is what tipped the scale, you know what i mean? T'was just the tip of the iceberg, i'm sure there was tons of other problems that kid had. Still, so sad that happened.
