and the board of Ed guy retired and they are still continuing to make stupid rules...do all you CB ppl think im overreacting or do you agree with me??

The absence thing is explainable.

But I do think you're overreacting.

Wait until you get to college, when you can pay $7.00 for a meal, and you drag yourself to a class, even though you feel like dying, just because you have a test to take or a paper to turn in. wink.gif

Rules for reporting absences are mandated by the state because districts receive money based on accurate attendance reporting procedures. If you are truly sick and are under the care of a doctor, get a note because your absences may be excusable.

$2.00 for lunch is reasonable. If it is truly a burden, apply for free and reduced lunch.

Many schools don't have funding for a full-time school nurse. Be glad you have one that is part-time. Many schools don't have any at all.

The board of education is just that, a board, not "a guy" who makes stupid rules. None of your post reflects any recent board policy. Your rant makes no sense.

I think you're overreacting. Most of the time, rules are put in place for a reason. The attendance thing sounds fine to me, and two dollars for lunch? Go to college, see how you like it there!

deal with it. it's two dollars. get a job if u think it's too much money. and if you leave before 3rd period, it's more than less than half of the school day. that's quite rational.

quit overreacting.

I too think you're overreacting a bit. But, I can relate to the topic in general.

Lunch prices here aren't $2. If you want the whole meal, it's closer to $4.00. Plus, there's the fact that you may not even get your lunch, because by the time you get it, the bell might have already rung.
Still, it's not the lunch prices I'm complaining about. It's much worse in other places, I know.

Near the end of 8th grade, I had planned out my next two years. Only two AP courses are offered in 9th and 10th grade at my high school (the rest are offered in senior high), so I decided to divide them between the two years. One, World History AP, was for sophomores only, so I decided to take taht in 10th grade and Human Geography AP, the other, in 9th grade. I was also in Humanities, a two-year course which gives two english credits and a world history credit.
All was going swell until, at the END of my 9th grade year, our school district decided that humanities students couldn't take world history AP because they'd be getting more history credits than they need. I was shocked--several others were too. This rule made no sense at all. Before it was passed, a lot of ambitious students took world history and humanities together. But suddenly, they decided they wouldn't allow it. That rule ruined my initial high school plan and upset quite a few people, including our world history teacher.

This is just one of the many ridiculous rules our school district has come out with. mad.gif

the $2 hing wasn't easy for me in middle school. my parents didn't care to fill out the free/reduced lunch form and never gave us lunch money so i initially took scraps fromm my friends. then i just began stealing from the lunch line. its a little easier now that im older but i can understand your pov.

i think you're overreacting... the lunch prices may be a little overpriced, but the attendance isn't that big of a deal. the vice principle at my school is worse than the Board- we can't stand up during lunch, and if we do, our parents get called and we have to clean up the cafeteria. they say we don't need to stand up, but even if we don't have to, what's wrong about standing up?

A two dollar lunch isn't *that* bad. I think the price is about right...

I get a bunch of "extras" with my lunch. Now the "extras" are what are overpriced. Sometimes it can make my lunch cost up to, I believe, six dollars. Jeez.

There were probably other factors associated with this, not just certain students.

And yeah, I think you're overreacting a little bit...you've actually got it pretty good.

ohmy.gif F.Y.I - I am not "overreacting" I agreed to the uniform thing. pinch.gif I signed the paper that was sent around the school asking about the uniform thing. So get your facts straight.

And this was my first time posting I'm not the one that made this post about the board of ED. I was just being a good member and replying to it because that's what the rules say! So if u wanna complain about people not appreciating the board of ed take it up with the person that created this post and not me...jeez... sweating.gif

I wasn't referring to you when I said "I think you're overreacting." I was referring to the member who created this thread. The rest of your post should be cleared up with that. Also, you didn't state in your previous post that you agreed to this new rule, so don't ask me to "get my facts straight." Furthermore, I wasn't complaining about the Board of Education. I was, how you stated you were, replying to this thread.

I feel that everybody's luch should be free that's how it is in my school ditrict but I think they only do that because it's in a mostly urban area I don't really have a school nurse she comes like two days a week when nobody's sock

You need to grow up and accept the rules.

Stop overreacting over the stupidest little things, and pay attention to things that really need to be over-reacted about.

Rules change suddenly. SO WHAT?! Its LIFE.

My brother has been to 8 different schools because they keep changing the school line boundries and he doesn't do this ranting thing like you are. No, he just accepts it and MOVES ON WITH LIFE.

Which is something you should be doing instead of ranting over something so stupid as this.
