I searched and there were topics about both, but none together.

A few months ago, I was all set to save up money around the holiday season to buy the iRiver u10. But i came across the Microphoto just a few short weeks ago, and I started thinking about the two. They both have pretty much the same features, but I still am leaning about 90 % towars the iRiver. and about 5 % to the Microphoto, and the other 5 % to just a regular MP3 cd player.

What do you guys think about both these players?
In comparison, the iRiver has
Alarm Clock
Music ( of course )
Video
AM/FM Radio
Flash Animation/Games
Text
Pictures
Recording
A Cradle/Case with Remote that has built in speakers
512 MB &/or A 1G storage capacity

Zen Microphoto has
Music
Pictures
AM/FM Radio
Recording
Glows when you touch it
8GB Storage
10 different colors

iRiver U10 And Creative Zen Microphoto Flash Tour

What is everyones opinions and thoughs about these ?
( I am going to buy the iRiver U10, once I gather up the money (: )

I always wanted something with video, which is why I want a Zen Vision, but the storage capacity turns me off completely. I need something huge to fit all my music into.

I like the idea of stereo speakers for it though, hehe.

Id still have to go with the Zen. Ive been kinda obsessed with Creative since I stumbled upon their website researching mp3 players.

I really don't like Creative MP3 players, I would personally prefer the iPod over the Creative Zen, and mostly I recommend iRiver, so in this particular case I would have to recommend the iRiver U10. I'm planning on buying the new U10 anyway.

The iRiver has more features than the Zen MP3 players, I believe that Zen MP3 players are kind of plain. Plus iRiver MP3 players have more features, and in my opinion looks a lot better.

I really can't figure out why the u10 is so desirable when it has so little storage. You'll run out in about 5 minutes and then regret it.

I don't really like either one, but the U10 had the nicer site, and seems to have a nicer interface. If I had to choose I'd pick the U10, but like i said, I don't like either one. J'adore mon Ipod.

I have 7. But even if you're not insane like me, it isn't hard to rack up over 2, at all.

Yes it is.
Unless it uses somesort of new flash memory, you can easily replace it with a different drive.

Again not hard.
If it uses a 1.8 drive, that find another 1.8 drive. There are single and Dual platter drives.

There are 20 and 40 gig single platter drives.
And there are 40, 60 and 80 dual platter 1.8 gig drives.
Same for 2.5 inch drives.

it's currently a flash device.

methinks the 8gb one would be a micro drive device.

hence the wait.

Thats what I was thinking.

On a Side note.
I can't find anything on the net about someone opening up the u10, and showing it.
I've seen lots of other iRiver products opens and such. But haven't seen this one yet.

Apple doesn't make flash memory. Or any memory, for that matter.

also, it seems that apple has bought all the memory.

mm, sounds about right.

CES booth attendants say that the h10 series is being jettisoned in favor of the U10 series, with microdrives, flash, and 1.8 inch drives, according to DAP review.
