Just lift your powersupply up off the ground. The thing runs really hot.

i heard about this along time ago, sometimes thats the price you pay for buying a brand new system at launch. although i have a few friends that own the 360 and played it all night and all day without problems. and the same was said on some forums ive read. its not with a butt load of systems, or else my dad would've talked alot about people having complaints (he manages some best buys). it also gets really hot so like Kryogenics said, elevate it.

OK, I hate microsoft too, but some of these rumors are out of hand.

They're not going to recall the 360. There aren't 40,000 bugs in each game. Excessive heat is causing problems in some machines, and some buggy games/machines are being replaced by microsoft.

Man, do I feel good now. My friend has also reports of bugs, although she doesn't know the cause, I will update with the problems.

My boyfriend got his XBox 360 today and he told me that about 5% of about.. um.. 40,000 systems are defects. His isn't... Or at least I hope it isn't. He tested it so it's fine. Yay!

Wow this is a greater number than iPod nano controversy. at least for that, it was 1/10 of 1%. Also, there were enough nanos for everyone.

Microsoft DEFINITELY screwed up on the XBox 360 launch. At least the PSP had enough to go around and there weren't that many defects.

I sympathize for those who've waited in line and paid $400+ (including tax) for their XBox 360 premium only to have it crash. >=[

Microsoft launched the 360 worldwide at pretty much the same time. PSP didn't. Also, Sony pulled the same thing Microsoft did this time with the PS2, that is, not providing enough units to meet demand in order to raise hype.

Wow, that made my day, after I had two people yell at me for not wanting a Xbox 360...

...I'll just be laughing for a while now.

On a more serious note there is now way they will have a recall, more likely people will be told to pay Microsoft shipping fees and they can get their xbox replaced.

I'm not too surprised this happend.

Actually, there are usually a lot of glitches or imperfections with the first few consoles made, but crashing? Now that sounds pretty bad.

That's totally gonna hurt Microsoft in the Microsoft vs. Sony vs. Nintendo "battle." Hopefully the other systems turn out fine.

Good thing I didn't get a X-Box 360 yet... I don't know if I ever will. So far it doesn't sound too hot.

Actually, it is pretty hot--too hot, in fact, which explains the crashes. If the Xbox has enough airflow around it (especially the power supply), it should be fine.
