NOTE: I understand if nobody wants to talk about this. Mods can devour this thread if they'd like.

Does anybody here have a mental illness? I mean, I look around, and see that just about half of all the people I know have a.d.d. or something. I even have one (not a surprise if you look at my signature) I have either an extreme anxiety problem or depression. It's hard to tell. Every moment of my day is spent worrying about something. Most of the time it's about grades or my ex-girlfriend, who dumped me WITH A NOTE. Other times it's about my friends, who constantly argue, or any other random thing that comes to mind.

It's tough. Small things keep me awake at night. I can remember one full night's sleep for about a month. When my gf broke up with me, things just got worse :-/

Anyone got a problem of some sort like this?

I have been diagnosed with depression and it sucks. I mean, I honestly say I try to smile all the time, but it's just really hard. I don't take meds because I refused them. The funny thing is, my parents are the cause of this and they don't even know. It's a real long story, but to sum it up depression sucks.

I have anxiety, anger problems and depression.

I always get paranoid and procrastinate, like always. At house, there is no day I was in peace except when I am alone or the phone never rings. At school, I always think of me being the reason why some of those kids in my classes are acting unusual. And I get paranoid everytime I found something new that I really do not expect that catches my mind, and I procrastinate on it-think of reasons/solutions to ease it.. which make it worser for me. I have no f**king idea what to do.

I used to have Dissociative Identity Disorder (previously known as Multiple personality disorder). I was lucky enough to be messed up at the right time to get the proper medicines and treatments. <3 I'm all better now.

Social anxiety disorder. Yup. Not very helpful to think about since it constantly bothers me. And ADD; it disrupts my home/school work. I really don't think it's a serious case, but I procrastinate way too much and it's really affecting my grades... :(

Manic Depressize Disorder [ Bi Polar ] . The doctors still arent sure if it really is Manic Depressive disorder though. I think it was just a time in my life that gave off all the symptoms Im fine now. But i still carry a lot of the symptoms.

OCD. A small case.My one symptom is i have violent or sexual urges. Mostly violent, occasionally sexual that coincide with OCD.
Im not sure if its OCD but if someone or something i want isnt on precise punctuality i feel suffocated and start hyperventilating until i black out. But those attacks have lessened.

i was in a state of depression a while back. that's why i wasn't on cb for a while. but now, i'm just like happy all the time! happy.gif

Eww, old typing habits pinch.gif

Ummm, nyctophobia/noctiphobia (fear of the dark), phasmophobia (fear of ghosts), arachnophibia, catoptrophobia (fear of mirrors, but it's only more of a night thing and with reflections >.> and it's more related to the first two phobias..), claustrophobia (confined spaces, just slightly).. There are a lot more, but I can't remember.
Definitely anxiety. And I'm slightly bi-polar.

It's seriously as bad as people make it to sound.
I'm always looking around to see if people are watching me or looking at me, because that's what I seem to think/feel that that's what they're doing.

Along with that, I have anxiety problems.

yea. i have a.d.d.

and struggled with depression after my mom died and then after my best friend spread a rumor about me stealing fifteen thousand from my dad. she transfered it all over the school and everybody..knew about it.

i went to a shrink but then my dad kept telling me everything was fine. personally, i think my a.d.d has gotten better. you just have to know that you can do it and mke yourself concentrate.

Maybe its something else? Alot various problems share the same symptoms. wink.gif

Hmmm.. I don't have a mental illness that I know of. But, i might for all i know, considering they're highly genetic and my Mom and brother have one and my brother's is pretty serious.

If i had one, it would probably be an anxiety disorder because i worry a lot. mellow.gif

hmmm, yes I suppose adhd is add except with the hyper part added to it...so saying ADD was overkill.

ahhh...and I have feared have bipolar dissorder...

after watching the movie "girl interrupted" I was convinced that I had borderline personality dissorder. I believe that its easy to get carried away with all of these diagnosises and stuff though. Its a part of living...its just things about our character and personality...eh...I'm to tired to get into this...

I have Attention Deficit Disorder. (A.D.D)

It's no fun.

I wouldn't call it a mental illness but a Learning Disability.

I hate when people make fun of A.D.D.
Or
I hate it when people "assume" they have it just because they can't pay attention at one time.

I know i have it. I've had test a bunch on times, they're no fun.

I hate it when people think just because I have it, I'm dumb.

I'm actually very smart. The only problem I have is that I learn in a different way.

Are eating disorders considered a mental illness?

I've been diagnosed as having depression and possibly A.D.D... I rarely take the depression medication though seeing as I'm already on five medications a day thanks to my stomach disease.

ADHD

Apparently, there is a correlation between substance abuse and ADHD, which is how I got diagnosed.

I used to be an alcoholic and an illicit substance abuser (coke, MDMA, MJ).

OMG. console.gif I'm so sorry!

I was also diagnosed with clinical depression 5 years ago (I'm on Zoloft), and then I was diagnosed with ADD just a year and a half ago. I honestly don't believe in ADD though. I view it as a mental variation, not necessarily a mental illness.

I've also been diagnosed with a sleep disorder and I'm on medication for that (Trazodone). Does that count as a mental illness?

And because of my sleep disorder, I can never get a good night's sleep, so I have to take Provigil to keep me awake in the daytime.

And I've been showing symptoms of bipolar disorder, so I'm going to have to get that checked out.

Ugh. My brain probably looks like a smashed grapefruit.

Depression, started when I was 13 but I have it under control with Effexor XR 175mg per day, once daily in pill form.

Now I'm starting to think I have a Panic Disorder, along with Social Anxiety. I've been asking my mom to make me a doctors appointment for the past 3 months, that way I can get treated and used to my medication before school starts. She finally made me an appointment last week, but it's not till 2 weeks AFTER school starts. sad.gif

I was diagnosed with depression when I was in middle school. It got so bad that I was having anxiety attacks and throwing up at least twice a day. The depression made it easier for sickness to get in so I always had a stuffy nose or a cough. My doctor told my mom to get me a therapist but my mom declined and I just took cough syrup for the colds.

I got over it eventually. thumbsup.gif
