Cats and Dogs have their advantages.

Cats are low maintenance while dogs are high maintenance. Cats know where to go to bathroom and won't make a big mess while dogs are more prone to go on the carpet. Both will decrease the familie's blood pressure, but dogs are more needy for human affection. Cats are highly territorial and allow you to pet them but might scratch you if you continue to bother them. They like to be alone. Dogs bark, though.

I'd prefer a kitty. =]

_smile.gif I prefer kittens if you're a quiet and shy sort of person, but if you're not, then get a dog. Take a chance.
As for me, I have a fishy that I don't even enjoy being in its presence at all, but we got it so that it would fill our tank/aquarium.

cats are much less work
show em where their litter box is and they're good to go
however, they can be a bit of a pain in the neck when they're hungry at 5am

cats have a lot of personality too.
i love my cats

Dogs are rather more dependent than cats.

So if you don't think you have too much time to spare for playing with your pet, get a cat instead.

Cats that have long fur can be a nuisance though...

CAT.

Smarter, clean, smell good, independent.. what more could you want? And kittens are very playful.

that made me laugh
I say a dog is nice for basic animal fun but if you have extra time on your hands get a cat

cats=very low maintenence, but they dont really obey. like if you say come here (name).

dogs=high maintence. you have to potty train them and everything, but they also seem to be tamable.

id pick a dog, but thats my opinion. dogs seem to have more personality.

i like kittens but then when they grow up, they look ugly. puppies are cute too. and when they become odler, they're still cute. idk why, but ive always been a more..dog person.

Sure, cats may be less maintainence and need less attention, but gahh the ones I've had sleep and just sit there. With dogs, you can take them out for walks, play with them, teach them tricks, they're overall better company =D

Hmm. This is a really hard decision for me because I have both a cat and a dog and wouldn't want to pick one over the other. Both my dog and my cat are really really friendly and wouldn't hurt a fly. Generally, dogs are more friendly than cats. A lot of cats will either hiss, scratch, or run away if you get too close. If you have young children in your family or allergies, I would get a dog (dogs that don't shed, usually don't bother allergic people). If you do decide to get a cat, be very careful to select a friendly cat.

I don't know, but since I'm a cat person, get a cat!
Or maybe a bird.
Rabbits would be easier.

get a dog. a dog will listen to you and love you unconditionally, they won't scratch the crap out of you or your things like cats.

cats are easier to take care of
but dogs..you get to walk them and take them to parks
a dog is like a baby
clean up it poop, potty-train it, clean them, etc

I totally do not like cats, so get a dog. I mean, cats can be really cute and everything, but I think that dogs would make you happier =] They are just so much better than cats. There. That's my argument.

Dogs.

Personally, I hate cats.

They lick themselves and sleep all day and you can't play with them. It plays with itself on that scratching post, and if you pet it too much their claws that come from no where pretty much nail you on the arm.

I love dogs. I will eventually get one.
