THIS IS THE SITE
YOU WANT TO VISIT.

THE BLACK FRIDAY SITE - http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/

EDIT // CIRCUIT CITY AND KB TOYS ADDED

The High Points of the ads so far: WalMart will be offering a $398.00 HP laptop as well as a HP desktop at the same price. There is some controversy now as the WalMart ad has come out and the 42" plasma screen that has been advertised is nowhere to be found.

UPDATE 10:00pm 11/9: Toys R Us Black Friday deals have how been added to the Black Friday site above. Just click the link.

UPDATE 5:40pm 11/11: The actual Best Buy ads/circulars that will be in newspapers on Thanksgiving day have leaked and have been posted. Here is a direct link to the the scans of the ads:
BEST BUY CIRCULAR FOR BLACK FRIDAY 2005!!!!

UPDATE 12:43am 11/12: A list of Staples Black Friday deals have been added to the Black Friday site. The highlight of this is a $449.00 laptop. Make sure to check the rest out for yourself. As always, the link to the site is at the top of this post.

UPDATE 1:09am 11/12: Here's the 42" plasma that will be $999.00 at Best Buy on Black Friday. It's only drawbacks are its brand name and the fact that it's not HDTV ready, but I checked it out yesterday and the picture is incredible. CLICK HERE FOR INFO ON BEST BUY PLASMA TV.

UPDATE 12:22pm 11/12: BF deals for Game Stop and EB Games have been posted on the Black Friday site. The main things I saw when looking through these were a few PSP items and Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater for $9.99. Check the site for everything else.

UPDATE 5:32pm 11/14: Deals for Target and Office Max have been added to the Black Friday Site. Click the link above and then choose a store to view its deals.

UPDATE 10:52pm 11/17: Deals for Richard's Sporting Goods....lol (D*ck's Sporting Goods) have been added to the black Friday site.....8 MORE DAYS!!!!!

UPDATE 12:05am 11/19: Less than a week away and the Black Friday ads are starting to pour in. Circuit City, Sam's Club, and K-B Toys deals have been added to the Black Friday site.

So the day after Thanksgiving is the BIGGEST shopping day in the year. RadioShack refers to it as Hot Friday, and I hear it's hell, both working and shopping on that day. We're going to open at 6 am and close at 8 pm. I'll be working a double shift too! Joy! At least I don't have to work from 6a-8p like the manager does.... that would blow.

Anybody have any big shopping plans for Hawt Fryday? I wonder what the Mall of America is like the day after Thanksgiving... blink.gif

EDIT: Pffft.. Black Friday? What does the day after thanksgiving have to do with the color Black? So confusing!

P.S. Retrogressive's a jerk. sad.gif

black friday is the biggest shopping day of the year. it is when many companies finally start making a profit, so they move out of the red and into the black, hence the name.

Good luck with that one wink.gif
I was a cashier at Target two years ago and worked the opening shift on Black Friday. It's kind of funny to see all the people rush through the doors when they open them. I laughed laugh.gif

RadioShack refers to it as Hot Friday

My fiancé works at Radio Shack, now I know where he got that nonsense. He gets dollar signs in his eyes every time he mentions it. It makes me SICK.

I am personally dreading the day after Thanksgiving. I don't make commission, so I don't benefit from the hundreds of people storming in and out of the mall. We're open three hours early and an hour later. I have to stay until 11:30 and take an exam the next morning.

..I guess I should just start in with the "bah humbug" bit now, since I sound like such a scrooge, but working in retail gives me a real negative attitude towards my once favorite time of the year. :(

HA! my friend works at Best Buy, and she's gotta be at work at 2AM blink.gif on friday! she did a run through of black friday over the weekend with her fellow employies, and she said she started to cry it was so insane! so do your fellow retail workers a favor: be patient and know that they're people too! wink.gif

It's not over yet for me.. I still hafta go to work at 2:30, and we're staying open an hour later today and tomorrow.. :(

There are some great sales at Staples, but I wanted to sleep so I could be relatively coherent at work today.
