I think it's a hilarious show and I'm so very happy that Aaron McGruder's the exec. producer and thusly keeps the show essence.

Oooh, and how perfect is John Witherspoon for the grandfather?

I'm not feeling Riley and Huey's voices. I had this idea of what they were going to sound like in my head so I'm kinda dissapointed.

Well, I read in the NY Post that it is Regina King (Scary Movie 1 & 2, Malibu's Most Wanted) who does the voices for Riley and Huey.

^ It's no more different than Everybody Hates Chris, IMO, except animated.

And why so quick to defend yourself as not being racist? No one accused you of it yet, so you don't have to say it.

I never got a chance to read the comic, but my husband and I have been watching this show religiously. It's so f'ing funny; we crack up all the time. hubby even DVR's all the episodes and won't erase them; he really does go back and watch them! laugh.gif

I think Regina King does a pretty good job. But I admit that after I found out she was voicing the boys, it started to sound like her. Does that make any sense? I dunno...my butt needs some sleep. laugh.gif

Some of the jokes lose the necessary effect due to the voices, but despite that; its the best show on TV.

Family Guy is funnier. CSI is more intriguing. South Park pushes the envelope on virtually every political issue.

The Boondocks directly focuses directly on the race issue between black and white people. I love how the jokes aren't one sided.

Huey: Its like an entire generation tries to take credit for what happened to some people

I couldn't agree with that statement more.

Gin: I always say, the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence.
Riley: What?
Gin: Simply because you don't have evidence that something does exist, doesn't mean that you have evidence that something doesn't exist.
Riley: What?
Gin: What country you from?
Riley: What?
Gin: What ain't no country I ever heard of. Do they speak english in what?
Riley: What?
Gin: ENGLISH motherf**ker DO YOU SPEAK IT?
Riley: Yea..
Gin: So you understand the words I'm saying to you?
Riley: Yea..
Gin: WELL WHAT IM SAYING is that there are known knowns, and known unknowns. But there are also UNKNOWN UNKNOWNS. Things that we don't know that we don't know.
Riley: ..What?
Gin: SAY WHAT AGAIN. SAY WHAT AGAIN!!!! I DARE YOU!! I DOUBLE DARE YOU!! SAY WHAT ONE MORE TIME!!!
Riley: ... cry.gif

^ it was that point that i realised they had sam jackson for his voice and it was badass as f**k.

this show is awesome. i think that EVERYONE should see the MLK episode. i like how it shows that white people aren't entirelyto blame for racism in todays society. but it still shows that rich white people are stupid.

i remember the first time i saw a commercail for it. i, like, woke up for half a second one night while my TV was on and i saw huey on the mic say "jesus was black, ronald reagan is the devil, and the government is lying about 9/11." i was, like, "awesome."

Yes yes yes. I don't have a TV so I download all the episodes. The show is a riot... and the R. Kelly episode and the Martin Luther King episodes are my favorite.

Huey is my favorite.

I love Riley too. He's so cute. Boondocks is deginitely one of the best shows out right now. I love the episode where Xibit's on there for Pimp My Ride, and the one where Riley has to take painting lessons. What's the fat racist black guy's name on there? The one always hating on his own race. He's funny too.

You should see the episode where Tom thinks his wife is leaving him for Usher. A Pimp Named Slickback is brought in to counsel him.

"No, n***a, is you deaf?! A Pimp Named Slickback, like, A Tribe Called Quest, you say the whole thing."
