Humming has become silence in this car
Empty but for only me and my reveries
At noon I shy from the midday sun and pull into a resturaunt
not unlike the one my aunt francis owns
in a hometown to someone else
some place small that reminds me of friday night football games
going down to the dollar general to get a coke or
sneaking into 5 period late after lunch
a small town has a beat different from a big city
this is less rushed, steadier, easier to fall into
Houston's a might different you see
a body could get lost and not be found
but that's where i'm going.
i'm just a trav'l'n woman passing through
not even this nice little resturaunt
could tempt me to stay a day or two

Ahh, yes, the seductive din of metropolitan life. I'd be hard pressed to live anywhere that I can't see the Pleiades at night.

Great job! It almost reads like song lyrics. Its got a Bob Dylan feel to it.
