ok, so my mom just got me an ipod.. but she wouldn`t trust me to bring it to school.. she acted like if i do bring it out in the street, i`ll immediately get kill.. i kno she wrries and cares abou me, but i`m THIRTEEN! dont u think i hav enough responsibilities to take care of an ipod? btw, out of a millions ppl out there who owns an ipod, only a few of them r robbed for stolen..

Yes, he says, I shouldn't take my cellphone to school because I might lose it and then he fussed at me because I didn't have it in case of an emergency.. What crazy people.

If a parent wasn't over-protective, they wouldn't really be a good parent. My parents are over-protective to. I have a MP3 player, and they told me not to take it to school because it might get stolen, which is totally understandable because people will steal valuable things. And sometimes, being over-protective isn't always a bad thing, more of a good thing though.

my parents are also this way, but mainly its just my mom. I not even allowed to get out of my own house without "adult supervision" or so she says.
AND I'M almost 15!!

My parents used to be, until I got much older. Even when I was a senior in high school, they wouldn't let me stay out past 11 except for a really special occasion. It's weird now that I am in college, because when I come home for breaks, they don't care when I leave or when I come back. That makes sense, but it's just so different from when I was in high school that it was kind of weird at first.

Yeah, my parents are pretty over-protective... They demand to know exactly where I am, who I'm with, what I'm doing, etc whenever I stay out a bit late...

my parents think that if i go outside by myself for maybe five minutes, i'd get raped. i cant even sleep over at a friend's house with five or six other people if they have an older brother. but that's not as bad as an 8pm curfew...

my parents kinda let lose when i turned 16 but they still a lil overprotected. After school when I go to the library at school to hang out wit my friends, my mom ask me 3863868943 questions. she thinks i do drugs and stuff.
My dad dont care NE more, he let me so whateva. |

Well if parents AREN'T overprotective, then they wouldn't be parents at all. I'm 17, and although I don't have a 8 pm curfew like chii does, my Mom have to get all the details about where I go, what i'll do, and who I'm with whenever I go out. And she'll call me on my cell just to make sure.
A piece of advice: just obey by their rules, and soon they'll give you more freedom. |

Agreed with SimplicityGirl, I mean would you rather have parents who couldn't careless if you got killed or not. I mean the iPOD thing I understand, but I'd much like it if my parents would give me a bit more freedom, ya know? But I love my parents never the less. And until we're old enough, we should obey them.

yah. My parents are really over-protective. Sometimes I hate it, but other times when they don't care I feel like they should care.
and gosh you're lucky. I want an ipod really bad but my parents don't want me to have another ecuse to listen to "junk music" |

My parents tend to eb over protective.Sometimes it's reasonable.Both parents should care where your at && what you do && what people you talk to.Eventually I'll be able to go place && do things they wouldn't let me before.I usually don't ask them to go anywhere I think they wouldn't let me go.My sisters 18 && they don't let her go places.She doesn't even have her license.She has a car though.Weird huh?Me && my sister both have cell phones.But thats only because we go places && have to stay after school.Plus I had to beg my parents to get me one.Anywho back to the point.The reason parents are protective is because they care.They don't want anything to happen to you && that they want to lead you into the right direction because before long they won't have control over you once you move out && your all on your own, But sometimes parents need to lay back && let them make the mistakes && learn from them.Alright not sure If I made my point but yeah.

so.. i'm 12 and i can't go out after 7:00,i can't go to arcades cause my dad thinks there's drug dealers bad ppl etc etc.. , he always ask mee who i'm going out with and if i say he doesn't know them he thinks i'm being with a bad crowd =__=

Damn some of your parents are real strict. Being the youngest of four i spose myn have realised theres not actually that much to be scared of, so i've got no curfews and just have to tell them where i am if i'm not coming home that night. Thinking about it i live in quite a safe area, but i'm glad i have so much freedom otherwise i'd never have learnt so many lessons for myself first hand. Long live teen freedom

i have a cellie and an iPod...the cell is a given...you have to take whereever you go....but i just don't tell them about me taking it...but i think they like just recently found out because i walk to school...so like i guess they don't really care cuase they didn't say anything...i only use my iPod in case of emergencies....BOREDOM emerg....lol...iono...i don't think that really helped you, but w/e....if you do decide to take it, be careful...
ps...my gma warned be about "getting jumped" over my iPod..w/e gma!! |
