You mean feathering it? That's for PS, but I don't know about anything else.

you can feather on psp too.
you just put the image over the background and then feather out the image until you're happy with it. |

use the feathering tool..rectangular marquee tool then change the numbers

Or....you could take the brush tool. Set it to your pink....and make it a soft edge and draw ontop of the image layer..
I've done that before.. Or you just feather with either the eraser or your various marquees. |
