my computers making weird... clicky noises. like when the computer is busy, but its like 300 times louder..
and it scanned for clusters? and found 2 bad ones.. so i stopped the scan. is there anything i can do? my moms given up on it, but i dont want to. |

Well, does it make a loud sound like a chainsaw, especially when the hard drive is being accessed? Your hard drive could be failing. It could also be an off-balance, obstructed, or dying fan. Either way, you probably should have the malfunctioning part replaced fairly quickly.

^my mom wont spend any money on it, since its a windows 98.
we had this problem before, with my last computer. my downloading eventually destroys the computer.  its not like a chainsaw... its just...loud.. clicks. |

Hmm. I guess you can try and disconnect the hard drive and boot from a floppy or cd. If it's still making the sound, it's probably a broken fan.

eh. it doesnt matter anymore.
im getting a new computer. ive had this one for 6 years already... maybe its just too old. |

im not sure what happened, but i turned it off for an hour, and now its fine.
