I didn't find a topic like this when I searched so...would you date yourself if you was a different person/gender? I don't think I would. Im a quiet person and I think I would be constantly telling myself "your so quiet" all the time.

Probably not. I have a tendency of being very guarded when it comes to my feelings and I unintentionally push everyone away or just willfully seclude myself so I can write. Conversely, I'm good in bed. Very, very good in bed. My ex despises me and calls me every now and then for sex.

Ah, this is a most interesting question. At first, to be honest, I was tempted to say yes; not out of a lack of modesty, but just because it makes sense. I can have fun with myself--watching movies, talking about common interests, and the like. If I went out with the girl version of myself, I'm sure I'd always have something to talk about, whether it was political issues, music, movies, or how awesome the Google computing cluster is. When I wanted to hang out, it would be easy to find something to do--I'm not a huge fan of big parties or going out to big social functions a lot, and if I were dating me, she wouldn't be either, so we could just have fun watching a movie in my room or enjoying dinner with each other.

On the other hand, relationships work because both parties work towards helping the other person get something out of them. I don't know if I'd get a lot out of a relationship with me. Other parties can bring a lot to a relationship. For example, I'm often an introspective, thoughtful person, but sometimes kind of dense--being more of a mathematical-analytical type, I see the world in that sort of way. I often find that spending time with people who are more philosophical or artistic can really add a dimension to our relationship, since they sometimes see the world slightly differently than I do. It contributes to my growth as a person because it helps me expand my mentality, or see things in a way I had not seen them before.

So maybe going out with someone exactly like me (i.e. myself) would be fun and exciting at first, but would not be that fulfilling in the long run. The people I am closest to are those that help me grow as a person, and while I help me grow as a person, having another me helping me grow as a person would be redundant and not give much utility in the end. So maybe I'd have a fling with myself, but save someone else for a more serious relationship.

I don't know if I'd want myself in male form as a boyfriend though. Ok, so I'd get a lot more sex than I do now (lol) and I'm great company, but what would I bring to the relationship that I don't already have?

I'd prefer someone who contrasts and compliments me rather than is identical, as lovely a person as I know I am!
I tend to like guys who do that actually. I go for the sky, quiet types because I seem to be pretty outgoing and confident. But around shy,quiet guys who are sweet, I feel more able to reveal my own insecurities while at the same time coaxing them to say whats on their mind.

There'd just be no CHALLENGE in being my own boyfriend. I know myself pretty well, so I couldn't even go on a fantastic voyage of self discovery.
Then again, it really would be autoeroticism in its purest form. And probably highly amusing.
