aim applications?, confused Options

okay reguraly i use aim to instant msg people, and i know that the myspace/aim virus is going on; but i never once got it like what people been getting like that whole " hey go to see the mysspace pic " and there would be a link to the picture right? and whoever clicks on it, gets the virus and sends to everyone on their b.list. well i havent gotten that but weird one...
okay well i went on aim today, and i get that would you accept this msg from XTaCtbliss15x...and i thought it would be one of my friends & i looked @ the profile before i clcked on yes. and it seem normal to me..and
she was like hey whos this?
me: umm well you im'd me, whos this? and my name is amanda...
her: ooh pizza?
me: what?
her: amanda what?
me: kohut
her: ooh i thought you were my friend amanda from 2nd grade
me: oh okay well yeah im not
her: well i got your s.n frm myspace b/c i tho u were her *(note: i do have a myspace and leave aim s/n for my friends to find me)

so yeah she went about the weather, and what not, i was going to block her..and then these windows came up from like darthveador, and etc...trying to me fill out a application for aim? i was like what the heck is application...i didnt read it much, because i got scared and crap..and you can accept warn, or cancel--so i warned them all off and blocked that girl and...it signed me off..i didnt aim did...and i went back on it and it was fine..and i automatically scan my comp for viruses and such..if there was a possiblility sthing came through..but it didnt..but iwas lucky--since im not all that great at comps..so im afraid to have something happen to it....
so has anyone had this situation b4?

Im guessing some werid person Imed you, and tried to send you a application that you think will hurt your computer? Well, then don't run the standard programs they give you. Use 3rd party software.

Ever thought that it *might* just be a coincidence that darthvader IMed you at around the same time as that girl? Sometimes things like that happen. But like what Szeh says, I'd make sure that my computer was clean.
