I would hesitate if it wasn't my mother, if someone asked me if I had to go through torture for my mother to like live or just not be in pain, I wouldn't evne think about it the answer would be yes right off. Even if it killed me, because my mother wne tthrough pain to have me and as he rkin I have a duty to her hat and I love her.

Well, it all depends on who the person is and how much I love them, and the situation.

Part of the training for CIA officers in the US is (or, at least, was at one time) an exercise in which the officer is kidnapped and asked to expose other trainees. If he does not do so, he is tortured until he finally gives up some names. The exercise does not end in failure when the officer candidate capitulates; rather, it is an exercise to show that, given enough torture, a person will eventually do whatever it takes to end the torture. The idea is to show that once captured, an officer must be rescued as soon as possible, or he might as well commit suicide.
To that end, like most everyone, I'd undoubtedly take some torture for a loved one, but eventually, I'd give in. Most everyone would, unfortunately. |
