In the days, weeks...months that we haven't spoken, you've because a beautifully tragic dream - both haunting and enthralling in darkness only to take flight with the rising of the morning sun. I still hear the rich spice of your voice. I see the translucence of your blue eyes, and the love that once lie behind them. Your heated handprint still rests on my nape, hip, and back. In waking I remember the disaster that tore us apart, but in slumber we can still run and frolic in fields of loving splendor. You, and only you, can render me completely naked with as much as a glance. Layers of doubts, fear, and insecurity are slowly peeled away, leaving me stripped bare with one kiss. A kiss that sparks an ember and burns brightly into a ferocious flame lit with passion and life.
And with one last glance into your knowing eye, morning's light creeps through and again, I am alone. |
