When you're asleep, and you listen to something do you actually remember it? Like if you have a French learning tape playing as you sleep do you remember it when you wake up in the morning?
I was just curious. Also, have any of you guys tried this? IF you have, what did you play/listen to? |

It doesn't actually work. It's just a myth (unfortunately).

I've tried, but it doesn't work.
I had this tape for learning Japanese and I listened to it while I was asleep. I tried taking the test in the morning, and I failed miserably. |

Yes!
Every night, I leave my radio on... But then sometime at like, 1 A.M., they turn it off. D: But then it makes me remember songs way easier. :D |

I've never really tried it so I don't know. I'm not going to try to learn something right when I'm about to fall asleep though.

Yep music definitely gets stuck in your head that way... some people have said that they know the lyrics because of it, but I don't think that's true.

Yes. I left my mp3 player on while sleeping (I fell asleep listening to it) and it didn't work. I didn't even hear what songs were playing. My science teacher told me to do it BEFORE you fall asleep and you'll remember. Hey, it works.. >_>

Hmm, I tried it with my Music Appreciation test- we had a CD that we had to know what the music was, and every night I would listen to it. It actually worked too...

I only do that when I want to memorize the lyrics to songs. I only remember a little bit.
I wish that when you have no time to study for a test, and your in bed, to play that CD of the things you have to know, and you'll know it by tomorrow morning. t hat would make studying so much easier. |

No, I don't think that's possible. In rare cases, maybe, but. Yeah.
We have a short story in our English textbook called Flowers for Algernon, and it's about this boy who has short term memory loss, and these scientists do an experiement on him to see if he can be more intelligent. Anywho, they had put on French learning tapes during his naps in the daytime&nighttime to see if he would remember the words, and according to the story, he did. |

Amazing. I think it's impossible. When you sleep, your cells sleep too. It doesnt concentrate anything but resting. i dunno.
