aright...well I dunno if this is in the right place or whatevers but I was just wondering if any of you have your cartiledge pierced? see I got mine this summer on my RIGHT side and everytime I see someone with their cartiledge pierced, it's almost always on their left side...and I was wondering if the right side is like the "lesbian side" cuz you know how on boys if they get their one ear pierced [I dunno if it's right or left] that's supposed to be the "gay side" lol...so uhmm yeah...any idea of what I'm talking about?

I was thinking about that but then I decided not to cuz I thought it'd look weird...I'm thinking of getting my left side in the middle part of my ear just to even things out...they won't be in the same spot as each other, but I think it'll look cool hehe

Actually, I heard that too, that certain sides meant certain things, but I doubt it.
Some people just perice either side for either reason, I doubt many people look into it.

Or wear a sign saying "IM STRAIGHT OK?!" .. your choice =)

Whatever significance it may or may not have doesn't matter if you're secure in who you are. I got my right side pierced because I think my right profile looks better.

And on the whole eyebrow piercing thing, good idea. IMO, piercings need to be balanced. I got my left nostril pierced because of my cartilege piercing.

i have my right ear pierced, with an industrial bar up the top.. and my friend who is gay has his left. so like everyone else has said, i don't think anyone really cares less.

I have an industrial bar done in my left ear only because for some reason I seem to have less problems with earrings in that ear I've never heard anything like a lesbian piercing thing like with guys (Left is right and right is wrong) So stupid!

seriously thats so f**king stupid, its neither side, if your les then your les that it. I had my left and right both done when I was 9 but I took them off because I went to a catholic high school and Only were allowed one ear since I had 3 on each ear, my cartilage ones were the first to close.

nope, it didn't hurt when I got it pierced...but then it hurts after it's pierced. I couldn't sleep on my right side for like a week and the cartiledge piercings get infected easier so you really have to clean them good

yea, i know waht you mean. if you've got it peirced on the right its gay but if you get it on the left..you're straight. i dont really beleive it but whatevs. ive got mine peirced on the left only becuase i thought it looked better

There's no "lesbian" or a "straight" or a "bi" or whatever side. Whatever side you pierce it on isn't dependent on your orientation. That would be silly.

i had a pretty bad experience with cartilige piercings.
when i was 13, my mom finally agreed to letting me pierce my stupid cartilige.
so we went, to this ordinary piercing place and i got it done- no it wasnt just a bad infection- i walked outside the shop and according to my mom i felt flat backwards ( meaning: i blacked out )

why? after i was rushed to hospital and conscious again, i was told that the piercer person had managed to pierce one of the sensitive blood vessel things that control your balance and a crucial nerve cell.

and after that day, i vowed that i'll just stick to my 5 lobe piercings.

it's called a cartiladge piercing because the part of the ear that is pierced is made almost entirely of cartiladge, and when you say 'ear piercing' most people associate that with a lobe piercing... really, there's loads of different ear piercings, and at a shop they'd ask for clarification if you just said you wanted an 'ear piercing'.



as for the topic, i've heard the thing about gay guys pierce one lobe and straight guys the other, but that's all bollocks. it's mostly personal preference, and what ear pressure is put on when a person sleeps and such.

personally, i'd put it in my right ear so i could fiddle with it when i was working and such.

Well that's sort of implied all over the forums, hun. I don't see the reason for posting that. And remember that we were all once retarded noobs.

And no, I don't have my cartilage pierced. I wanted to get it though, but it was like, made illegal in my state {I live in Indiana.} to get it pierced in accessories shops like Claires or The Icing, so I'd have to get it done in a tattoo parlor. It kinds of scares me though, I heard it's not the smartest thing to do because your like, piercing a thin piece of bone, Iono..

that's only if the person doesn't care for the piercings correctly, or if the jewellery wasn't in quite right. my step-sister actually had to have an earring surgically removed because it started to grow in on the back, but that was because the jewellery was too tight.

I have 2 cartiledge piercings on the left side. But thats only because I'm right handed and it would have been hard to pierce my right ear with my right hand. Idk. Just easier to do it to the left ear.

i know people who have it on both ears, they just have two distinctively different earings, like the right will be a stud and the other a hoop. but it depends on what you want. i don think it's abnormal. i mean considering what else people can get pierced you know?
