if anyone's interested in debating about this, i'll argue right now that i think it's impossible. this might also lead to arguing about whether creation or evolution is right....but i firmly believe it's impossible.
i also believe that this world could not have evolved itself from nothing. too many contradictions and impossible bridges to cross. especially the flagellum theory. and the fact that what DID the world evolve from then? what was the beginning? how could we have evolved from NOTHING?? neways...my point is since we were created by a God (i'm not saying what kind of god)....that God created all human beings with a sould. no matter how much science is advanced, man cannot clone or make a new soul. therefore even if they tried cloning, either the body will be a vegetable, or clearly disfunctional and screwed up in numerous ways. it will never be a normal living thinking loving human being. |

Since physical bodies of animals are possible, why not humans? Can you explain your argument in more depth, excluding your religious view, which is not really arguable since that depends whether you believe a soul exists or not, or even God for that matter.

If you believe a soul exists, then the argument is probably clear that man cannot create souls. also, i highly doubt animals have souls. in fact, i firmly believe animals have no souls. cuz they don't go around with religious or atheistic belifes. u don't see them worshipping. and if they did, then we should be seriously quesitoning ourselves when we eat meat. that is why animal cloning is possible cuz they have no souls. it's just organs and nerve tissues they are cloning. not a soul.
if you don't believe in souls...then uh, i don't know how to argue against you...but if you truly don't believe that you don't have a soul, then i feel complete sympathy for you, no offense. if one considers himself nothing but like an animal, they seriously need higher self-esteems cuz they're much more than that. plus what would be the point of your life then? if there's no soul...there's no right and wrong, because there would be no guilt for us to worry about cuz when we die it won't matter. i really don't want to believe that when i die...that's the complete end of me. we exist for a reason, and each have our own unique souls that no scientist can clone |

QUOTE in fact, i firmly believe animals have no souls. I see your argument is based on another religious morality vs. scientific capabilities issue. There is no fact to claim from and I don't think it matters whether I believe in the existence of a soul or not -it cannot be proven either way. |

If they can clone animals, they can sure clone human beings. Atleast, the body of one.
But cloning souls would be rather ridiculous because us being humans, we can't create other souls. Only God can do that. Religiously, I believe in God and I believe that humans can't create humans. |

we've been talking about this in biology...
cloning humans isn't bioethical, therefore they aren't allowed to do it. i dont think that we should clone humans. i think that it's scary. if any of you have read The Anthem by Ayn Rand...well i think that our society will turn into the one in that book due to cloning and other insane new recent discoveries. this also reminds me of the movie The Island...where people would pay millions of dollars to have themselves cloned. Their clones wuold be stored in a preserve, and if the real person had a heart attack or anything like that, they would transplant a specific body part from their clone so that they can live on. Basically, people thought that this would help them become immortal. IMO, it's completely unneccessary and I think that mother nature shouldn't be toyed around with. When you're supposed to die, you die. that's it. |

you were talking about cloned embryonic stem cells? of course i know they were cloned. it was a korean who did it in the first place. well that's a totally different issue. cuz then the question is whether an embryonic stem cell is considered human or not.
though there's no real aboslute proof and i have no absolute conviction which side is right....i tend to think a little more on the side that ESC cells don't have life yet. cuz they lack a central nervous sytem, which means they can't feel. and if you can't feel....i don't think that's really life yet. but of course i'm not absolutely sure, and i still go back and forth....just an opinion. |

sorry i don't live in the states so i don't know all about abortion and plan b drugs and stuff like that. i only studied about embryonic stem cells for my school debates.
if you're still interested in this topic....do u think that scientists should be aloud to clone humans? (if it was currently possible) |

QUOTE(plan b home site...if it mattered.) Things do not always go as planned. You might have forgotten to take your pill, or another birth control method you used might have failed, like your condom broke. Now you have a second chance to prevent pregnancy with Plan B®. It's just birth control you take after sex. |

Oh, ok, that's what I was thinking. I'd never heard the morning after thing referred to as Plan B. I don't think even my anti-abortion family would consider that an abortion drug

It even says on the damn website that it is NOT the abortion pill. Yet some people let their minds wander and make up stuff.
..my parents would just consider it normal birth control as well. |

That's ridiculous. That's even more ridiculous then on Fever Pitch where the girl was a week and a half late and assumed she was pregnant, then was sad when she got it. That's an absurd kind of comclusion to jump to. You can't assume you've killed something before it's even alive
