my english teacher gave me a 0 on a vocab quiz, because she thought i was cheating!! i wasnt, i have never cheated on a test like that, and if i did i would not have been so unsneaky. I had the paper (answers) on my desk under a pile of other papers and i was leaning on it and the teacher came by and i guess she saw me put it there, or she saw it showing...im not sure, but i was not cheating and if i tell my mom she will yell at the teacher and then i will never get on the good side of her. But if i dont tell my mom she will tell my mom and i will get in trouble, unless i told her then....but im just sooo confused!!!! cry.gif I did not cheat on the stupid quiz, but now i will be labled a cheater. what do i do!! please help!!

I think you should just talk to your teacher (and your mum) and tell them both exactly what happened. Explain that you weren't cheating and it was a mistake. Teachers are overall good people and I think that if you talk to her honestly, she'll understand the issue and at least let you retake the test.

Remember, teachers don't want you to fail, so if there is some reason that she thought you were cheating but you explain you weren't, she'll probably be very understanding.

You should explain it with all your heart.
Hopefully she will understand, aad let you re-take the test.
Even if she doesn't believe you, the least you can do is ask to take the test again.
Consult to your mom, she if she understands, too.
She can have the power to change something!

Tell your mom but tell her not to yell at the teacher until the teacher calls home or whatever. That way, your mom will have a reason to stick up for you rather than jump on the teacher. Does that make any sense? I'm sorry if it doesn't.

well if you got a bad grade, is it really worth fighting for? plus vocab quizes are usually only a few points and yes i know people are going to say a few points mean a lot but still...

Slap her f**king face. That whore.

Juss kidding. You just need to talk to her face to face. Show her that if you take a different quiz on a same section, you'll get a good grade. that'll show you that you're honest and .. hardworking ?

Yeah, just explain to your teacher about the pile of papers, or ask to re do it on a totally clean desk or something. It wasn't your fault and if your teacher is still unreasonable, explain to your mom to dicuss the matter with your teacher, in a calm mature manner.

Yeah, just explain the situation to your teacher and your mom, but tell your mom not to yell at the teacher or anything. Besides, it's just a quiz, it probably doesn't count for very much anyways.

Well, I mean overall. I'm sure that if you get a 0 (or a bad grade) on one quiz, it won't really affect your grade that drastically... And, usually quizzes count for less anyways. At least, teachers that I've had don't cound quizzes that much. Just do better on your other ones and maybe your teacher will drop the lowest grade.

I'm confused.

You had your test paper under a bunch of other papers? Or did you have a cheat sheet under the papers?

Either way, you aren't supposed to have papers out during a test or quiz. Thats why she thought you were cheating.

Haha! You spelled lounge wrong!

I think you should just let it slide. The more you argue, the more deep in shit you'll get. Next time don't have papers on your desk while taking a test/quiz. That's just .. stupid. I know where your teacher is coming from.

Explain it to her, but if she doesn't believe you, then just leave it. The more you argue, the more they won't believe you. Anyways, being on her good side shouldn't be an issue, as long as you do well in the class, whether she likes you or not should not affect your marks.

Yea, explain it to her would be the most logical thing to do.

And to save it happening again next time, never put anything on ur desk except for pencil, pens and things u need for the vocab test!!!

Whenever we have a test at our school, there's to be nothing on the desk, everything's gotta go out of sight.

Just volunteer to do extra homework or something to make it up. Most teachers are understanding.

I agree with everyone above but I think you really just need to explain to her that you didn't cheat, and even though you got a bad score anyway she may either give you that score (its better than 0) or have you retake it. Either way, at least she won't be thinking of you as a cheater anymore. biggrin.gif Good luck!

Yea, like what mostly everyone said, talk to your teacher about it. That's what I would do. But if that happened to me, it wouldnt really matter because quizzes are only 10%of your grade and tests 15%. 50% of your grade is participation in class

Explain it to your teacher.
Tell your mother what happened, and pray she'll understand.
Tell your mom not to yell at the teacher because you were unprepared for the vocab quiz and you would've done bad anyway.

Wow o__O Tlak about strict. You should try to explain it to the teacher and as for a make-up quiz. A 0 is harsh! I remember in Freshman year (lol 3 years ago), when this guy kept bugging me and I thought my teacher wasn't looking so I whispered "C" for the answer to the question the guy behind me wanted and the teacher heard because he saw me turn my head! He said "ARE YOU TELLING HIM THE ANSWERS?! FJAKSLKFJAJLFDS I SAW YOU TURN YOUR HEAD!" I was thinking.. WTF?! because a bunch of other people were turning their heads too and telling each other their answers! sweating.gif Makes no sense, really.

Try to explain it to you parents and your teacher. I agree with others--if anything, try to ask for some extra credit work.
