You can just mark close to your eyelashes and whenever you mess up or too thick, you can wet a Q-tip and be sure to squeeze the water out so it wont be too wet and then just wipe the eyeliner.

They have 3 great ways to get dramatic eyes in the September Seventeen issue. Plus if you go to this link it shows you a step by step video on how to apply liquid eyeliner.

eyeliner is one type of makeup that takes some practice to apply.

there are basically three types: pencil, liquid, and powder.

Pencil

pencil is like old-school and is the easiest of the three. Use a kohl pencil because those have a soft, clay-like core that's easy to apply and it smudges a little for a smoky, worn look. you have to put your elbow on something (a table or sink) because that allows you to keep a steady hand.

Natural and simple: You shouldn't do this with contacts in. Lift your eyelid up a little so you can see the inner rim/the skin underneath the lashes. Take the pencil and careful swipe some liner on it. Use soft, short strokes so you don't irratate your eyes. Liner it from end to end but don't do the bottom. It's fine with liquid too but you have to wait for it to dry. This look is easy and it instantly makes your lashes look so much fuller.

Classic: Line both above the lashes (as close as possible) and then line the inner rim. To make it easier, stretch the top lid taut so the liner goes on smooth. Pull the skin underneath your eye a little so the innder rim isn't right against the eyeball. Don't do this if you have small eyes. Bottom + top lining makes eyes smaller.

Wings: Just line your top lid but extend it past your eye. I usually do it 1/4 inch but my mom says it's too much. huh.gif

Eyeshadow: Take a colored jumbo eyeliner pencil or just a regular pencil and completely fill in your crease (if you don't have one, just fill in about 1/4 inch or less). It's absolutely funky.

Liquidy

liquid eyeliner has a tip usually so straight lines are easy.

Classic + Mod: Line the top close to the lash line. For the bottom, line it UNDERNEATH your bottom lashes (not the innder rim). This makes your eyes look really large, especially with liquid lining because it has a uniform/smooth line.

Funky: Line the top lashes and then make a small v on the skin outside the inner corner (near the nose). Then, extend the line so it stretches from the corner to halfway across the inner rim (or underneath the bottom lashes).

Simple: Get an eyeliner with a sharp brush tip. Make sure there isn't too much liner on it and make small dots between your lashes. Take a damp Qtip and swipe softly at your lashes to remove excess liner.

Power

makes a second use for your eyeshadow. it makes a very soft line. makes for a very elegant look.

Simple: Get an angled eyebrush (the bristles are cut at an angle). Wet the brush and squeeze out excess water. Swipe it in some loose eyeshadow and then slow draw a line across your lid.

Cheater: Swipe a thick line of eyeshadow across the lid then take a Qtip to clean up it and make a line. shifty.gif Very easy but very wasteful.

Dual: Swipe one color halfway + a little bit across your top lid. Then, fill in the other half and gently fade the colors into each other.

I do a dual colour with pencil. Cheap and easy. AND with pencil, expensive is not always better.

Make sure you have a good point on the pencil. A dull pint equals in lots of smudge in areas you don't want it to be. Also make sure you have a good eyeliner.. One that doesn't smudge..

I use eyeline a lot but I make sure it smudges... Cuz that's how I like it. I like to be artistic with it. I drawl tails and dots and whatnot.

Yup.
