Personally, I like manga alot better than anime. Manga usually comes first, the art is usually better, and the stories are much more detailed (usually).

Occasionally, I'll find an anime I like, but 99.9% of the time, you'll find me reading manga. biggrin.gif

Basically I love manga as much as anime. Although manga is more descriptive and I alwayz love the otaku you get =P. But other than that I like watching the motion and how they react. As to watching Bleach instead of them run at each other and then all of a sudden their swords are in contact I rather watch how the swords got into contact and thats what anime does =P. Yep love both equally =P

That's cool! One question: How can one get an otaku? Unless you could buy one, but that would be called slavery lol

manga. its way easier to find. you just go to borders or barnes and noble, and BOOM. a whole section. anime dvd's are really hard to find. theres only 1 place in town that has a good selection of them. and its a long drive @_@

Otaku is the Japanese term for fanatic or nerd.

It's not necessarily a nice way to refer to someone (most people wouldn't want to be called nerds...), but when you're an obsessed fan of manga or anime, you would be considered an Otaku.

Personally, I'm a Manga Otaku.

You would be an Anime Otaku.

Usually I download the scanlations but I can download the raws and actually try to translate them myself.. But that takes a few so yeah...

Usually when you refer to OTAKU with manga it is a little section for the fans of that anime. In other terms like a little extra page that has nothing to do with the anime but there to give you a laugh or pictures that weren't shown in the manga =P.

I'm manga and anime otaku =P I love both equally

I'd say manga.
Manga is the original, unless it started as anime, which isn't likely.
Anime changes the story most of the time.
Adds weird colour.

Manga. I can accually buy some.
I enjoy american manga the best. I get entertained by the Rising Stars of Manga more then any manga. Makes me feel like I have a shot at drawing manga someday. My goal is to enter that contest at some point in my life. I haven't found any fans of the seires yet, though. Are there any out there?

Currently my favorite magnas:
Get Backers
Fruits Basket
Bizenghast - (A winner from the Rising Stars)

In manga I love the art more. The art in Get Backers is insane. I think it's kind of odd that I find the art more impressive then in the anime.

I usually watch my anime in Comcast On-demand.
That's how I got hooked on Kino's Journey... biggrin.gif

Manga.

More detailed, cheaper, and covers more (IE one manga is not the equivalent of one ep, or even one DVD most of the times).

I have over 125 manga. I think anyway, I havent counted recently.

I like the manga better. There's more to the plot and the art is awesome! Plus, the manga is the original and the anime isn't. To me, manga is better.

My favorite manga right now are
D.N. Angel
Chobits
Fruits Basket
Full Metal Alchemist
Escaflowne
Inuyasha
Naruto
Rurouni Kenshin

Not always.

There ARE manga that are based off the anime. For instance, the Digimon Manga.

^^^ Even so, I think the manga has a greater attention to detail. Neon Genisis Evangelion was a manga after the anime but I actually prefer the manga because of that attention to detail.

Again, not always true. Digimon manga basically skimmed the anime and paid almost no attention to detail. They pounded a whole series of it into 5 manga. Another into 3. Its horrid.

Manga, beacuse it's normally the oringinal story. take Inu-Yasha for example. the anime has lots of filler and they altered some aspects of the story and some characters personalities. The anime also ended before the manga finshed, thus causing one of the worst endings ever.
