Definitely!

I constantly read books. I often find myself lost in the world of literature, sometimes just to escape from the real one.

Pft...of course they're a form of entertainment! Realize that this was entertainment back in the day...I mean, they had nothing to do but read. It was great because everyone read...told stories...et cetera. It makes me sad when I hear people say they hate to read. sad.gif

haha, I was going to say that. I know 20+ people around my area who hate to read. I think I'm like the only one who likes to read.

Anyway, I think books are a form of entertainment. I mean, come on! They are like TV except much more better. Also, some TV shows and movies are based on books. Also, I think fantasy is FAR more interesting than reality in my life.

I don't read books all that often anymore because of school getting in the way, but when I have some free time on weekends and over the summer I tend to read a pretty good amount of books.

i'm such a book addict. i read whatever i can get my hands on.

and i'll definitely go back and read the book if i see a movie based on that book, because the book is usually a million times better than the movie. usually.

OMG. im gonna stand up for the 'no' people. NO! Books are a burden. I hate reading to the fullest. My mouth hurts after I read. My mind is like.. ooooww. And even if I read, my class couldnt keep up with me. I read faster than the speed of light. tv and movies are the new books. they say words. my eyes dont like to go right and left every half second. pinch.gif

I'm glad I'm not the only one =) I like reading. When I was in third grade, I got in trouble a lot for reading when I wasn't supposed to. Reading is fun, especially when it's full of suspense and stuff. The only book that made me mad was the 5th Harry Potter book. Not because of the content though. It was too heavy, and I couldn't put it down...

I don't like books. When people say 'book', I think of text books. And when I think of text books, I think of homeworks. When I think of homeworks, I go crazy.

That's why I don't like books. And mangas arent book, they're manga...

Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident, and the Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (yay Sherlock Holmes.. lol)

Books are the greatest form of entertainment. They just give you this great tingly sensation when you finish them, nothing like the sensation you get when you finish watching a TV show. Baha. I love reading.

I love reading books, def found them as a source of entertainment.
At times I prefer them over movies. . .
something really awesome about sitting down with a book
that you just can't stop reading.

Yeah! It allows you to use your imagination more -- the characters aren't ever disappointing because you create them in your head, you know?

Definitely. In movies and TV, the characters' physical characteristics are already defined, but books and stories allow you to use your imagination to create them yourself.

It's something different and is just as captivating than movies and TV, if not more at times.

Yeah.

Only if its a good book.

Usually if its school related its boring and stupid, then its not entertaining.
