Well, I used to have this habit where I'd chew my lip, and then I ended up practically gnawing on the skin around it. Now it's red and it get's dry and chapped a lot. I'm really self-concious about it and then I end up making it even redder and flakier.
Has this happened to anyone before? And how do you get rid of it? huh.gif

I bite the skin inside my mouth. wink.gif And I bite my lip too. That's just when I wanna kill time though.
I know what your talking about and usually it just goes away after 'not' biting or anything. Just be sure to put on chapstick or something moisturizing for your lips/mouth whatever.

That's happened to me before, the best thing to do is jsut leave it alone, in other words dont' try to fix it by picking off the dead skin, it'll come off in it's own good tiem and you'll jsut be making it worse.

Another good thing to do is put on lots of lipbalm, and put some hand lotion around your mouth, where it is red and adjetated. Hand lotion does wonders for me happy.gif

just wipe it with a wet face cloth every once in a while to sooth the irritation. and put aveeno cream on it.

i have had that same problem. except it wasn't caused by chewing lol. i kept scratching my upper lip & stuff... it eventually got yeah... damaged, red, & crap... but it's getting better, i think. if u didn't overcome the chewing habit, u gotta lol. if u did, then just use like vaseline or go to a deremetologist if that doesn't work? haha. also drink more water...

I used to suck on my upper lip so much that it would turn red. I would just let it heal, I'm never doing that ever again.

dont lick your lips it will dry them out more. Try blistex. the icky tasting kind. It will help keep you from nibbling because of the taste. Other than that just try to stop what you are doing. Its not good for you!!!

I used to something like that. I still do actually. I bite the inside of my lip, and sometimes it gets cut and stuff. Its true, try the nasty tasting blixtex, and it'll keep you from biting.

Yeah, i do that sometimes. It goes away eventually, though. Just try to restrain from biting your lips any further, and put on lip balm. happy.gif
