Either buy one specifically for asian/black hair, (eg. revlon has an asian line, or beauty labo) or buy a shade a ton lighter than you want it to turn out.

EDIT: or you could bleach before dying...

Hmm, well I went to a salon to get my hair highlighted. But yeah, get a product especially for asian hair, and I think you only bleach the part of your hair that's going to get highlighted? I dunno, I don't highlight my own hair.

bleach will make your hair white if u leave it on your hair for a long period of time, especially dark hair. it will also make your hair brittle.

i suggest get it professionally done. OR go the route that i went...

after buying all those bleaching kits at wal-greens and stuff and finding that it still didn`t get me as light as i wanted... go to your nearest sally`s beauty supply or other place and pick up some Quick Blue bleaching powder and CREME developer. the amount of powder packets and volume of the developer depends on how many highlights you want and the condition of your hair. you`ll also need all those regular ol things for highlighting (non metal mixing bowl, brush, gloves, yada yada.) then buy a color to tone your hair the way you want... i know this was a bit vague, but i hope it helps atleast a little.

Yea, but to get a good colour, she's gonna have to do some sort of colour removal. Just make sure to condition well. And if she doesn't do it often, I wouldn't recommend supply bleaches and stuff, they can go horribly wrong. Basically, bleach with a kit, and then dye with a kit, that's my advice

I suggest go to a salon...Umm...Save some money? I just get 100 dollar bills everytime I walk out the house. A professional salon would be nice! I got my hair dyed and it was 90 dollars. (-___-);; Or you can ask one of your friends to help you highlight your hair! It'll be fun!

I think that's the point, dear. Black hair is harder to color. White blonde hair is easier to add color to.

Go to the salon? But kinda expensive since black is very hard to color.

well i had dark brown hair and my cousin tried to use sun in with extra hydrogen peroxide mixed in to give me highlights....but she just ended up doing my whole head....but it ended up a lighter redish brown which i kind of like...haha

but yeah...the best method i'd say is save up & get a professional...but if you're desperate you could try the sun in + hydrogen peroxide combo....just be careful...it's permanent pinch.gif

What I did was this:
I went to Target and got a blonde colored dye. When you get blonde dye and dye your black hair, it is a darker blonde, which results in a goldish-brown color.
So.. I recommend you go and get a blonde dye, then go to a beauty supply store and get a highlighting brush [its like, five dollars me thinks, but it is worth it, you can highlight your hair any color, and the dye is cheaper than the highlighting kits, so i think you can buy it with fifteen dollars. ] . I think thats your best bet =D

Good luck, having black hair can be a gift, and a curse XP tongue.gif cool.gif laugh.gif {me loves smilies }
