First time poster:

I'm starting a community and need a layout that has direct access to Memories (or can just be links) from the main page. I haven't found any free layouts with the S2 system that can handle this.

If you know of any layouts let me know or what I can do to edit my current layout (I'll use any style).

EDIT: I guess what I need to do is create a new module that will allow me to add say 10-12 links. I'm a free user and will use either S1 or S2 in any style as long as I can do this.

Thanks much!!

just link to the entries directly. it's not that hard.

by the way, you can't add a new module unless you are a paid account, for s2.

i've been using LJ for about 1 year just haven't mastered the art of making between 5-15 links stay on the main page somewhere.

i'm not sure what you mean when you say: "just link to the entries directly. it's not that hard."

i do web design for companies so what are you saying? you just want me to add a hyperlink in one entry that links to my previous entry? that'd defeat the purpose of me wanting multiple links that stay on the main page.

thxforhelp?

PS: you said modules cant be added with S2... soooo how about S1?

If you know the overrides for livejournal, then you can add tables or div layers with links in them.

"need a layout that has direct access to Memories" - That's what I meant by just direct link to the entries. That's the only way to have "direct access" to memories is by linking to each and ever entry you have in the memories, or created a link to the memories directory, and let them browse through that livejournal page instead.
