i told kathleen i'd write this song the first time i saw "the phantom of the opera" with her. here it is

SYMPATHY FOR THE PHANTOM
Since the moment I first heard you sing
I’ve needed you with me, to serve me, to sing
I wait in shadows; a hideous fiend
Longing for the heaven of my own Christine

You see my face and draw back in horror
God! Why can’t you see that I adore her?

Since the moment I first heard you sing
I’ve needed you with me, to serve me, to sing
I wait in the shadows; a hideous fiend
Longing for the heaven of the angelic Christine Daae

You see my face and draw back in horror
God! Why can’t you see that I adore her?
You will curse the day you did not do
All the phantom asked of you!

I gave you my music
Made your song take wing
Now how you’ve repaid me
Denied me and betrayed me
And tough you have passed on
My love lives on for the rest of these days
I leave you my rose wrapped in a black bow
Laying at your grave

Insolent boy
This slave of fashion
How could this fool
Outshine my passion
Those who speak of what the know
Find that prudent silence is wise
Hold your tongue
Keep your hand at the level of your eyes

Since the moment I first heard you sing
I’ve needed you with me, to serve me, to sing
I wait in the shadows; a foul and hideous fiend
Longing for the heaven of the angelic Christine Daae

You see my face and draw back in horror
God! Why can’t you see that I adore her?
You will curse the day you did not do
All the phantom asked of you!

I gave you my music
Made your song take wing
Now how you’ve repaid me
Denied me and betrayed me
And tough you have passed on
My love lives on for the rest of these days
I leave you my rose wrapped in a black bow
Laying at your grave

Damn you! You little prying
Pandora! You little demon!
This is what you wanted to see?
This is what you wanted to see?
Curse you! You little lying
Delilah! You little viper!
Now you cannot ever be free!
Damn you! Curse you! X2
Masquerade
Paper faces on parade
Hide your face
So the world will never find you

I gave you my music
Made your song take wing
Now how you’ve repaid me
Denied me and betrayed me
And tough you have passed on
My love lives on for the rest of these days
I leave you my rose wrapped in a black bow
Laying at your grave

Damn you! You little prying
Pandora! You little demon!
This is what you wanted to see?
This is what you wanted to see?
Curse you! You little lying
Delilah! You little viper!
Now you cannot ever be free!
Damn you! Curse you! X2
Masquerade
Paper faces on parade
Hide your face
So the world will never find you (fades out)

Amazing. Angry and dark and great word usage. It really makes a picture in your mind.

lol twas good. About 75% of the lyrics were actually from the movie or show. Just kinda moved around and fit together. The lyrical brilliance of Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe :) And of course Andrew Lloyd Webber...his music puts me in awe.

You should do one with just your words, i know you'd do well, i've read alot of ur other work. :)

i've done a bunch of my own original stuff. and i didn't really want to post this one up because of the fact that alot of it is words from the actual songs. i don't want to seem like a plagirist, but Kathleen made me post it cause she wanted to see. thanks, too. =]
