how do i keep part of a picture in color and make the rest in black and white?
i know how to make it black and white.. i just need to know how to keep some of it in color i have ps7 |

Do you mean you that you want the whole entire pic to be black and white except for a few objects?
You could try selecting the object that you want to remain in color with the polygonal lasso tool, inverse the selection, and turn the rest of the pic into black and white. |

Here's a good way:
Create a topmost saturation layer, and cover it all in black. Then, erase the parts of that layer that you want to be in color. The image will be mostly B&W except for the parts you erase. |
