my hair is naturally dark brown. but i decided to take off my highlites since they were growing out anyways .. instead of dying my hair dark brown my mom acidentally bought black hair dye. i thought it wouldnt make a big difference. so i let her dye it. big mistake ! now my hair is blacker than black. it doesn't look natural at all. i gave it a month to see if it would grow on me but i just hate it. so yesterday my mom ''tried'' dying it light brown. nothing changed except for my roots that were growing out.! my hair won't dye now .. do you think i should get like a blonde color hair dye and see if it would get my hair any lighter? what should i do?!

help please !!

Try Bleaching it and the next day THEN dye it dark brown. That's what I did and It worked. Of course I didn't have to go anywhere, so I just stayed home. Other than that, go to the salon.

NO, don't bleach it at home. You need to get it stripped at a profession salon. Trust me, it sucks but it is worth it. It is waaay to risky to do at home. My hair used to be black as hell, now it is all pretty and fixed.

Ah. this is my category. my hair is dyed black, and anything you put on top of it will not cover it up.
you will need to go to a SALON to have them bleach it. they will also treat your hair with special conditioners because bleaching will damage your hair.
Your hair really wont be its natural color unless the dye is rigt on, so dont be too disappointed. After the process, you probably shouldnt do anything else to your hair for about 6 months. Sorry chick, but depending on how long your hair is, it will be expensive. My hair was shoulder length when I had this done, and it was 120$. But remember, you have to do it at a salon. There is no other SAFE way.
