=/ I call it color overlay... But that's probably not what it's called.
Anyways, you can just make a new layer, fill it with a color, gradient, or clouds and then put it on the layer mode 'Color'. -shrug- It's that simple.

Both. It's exactly the same thing.
Although for the first one you use either a gradient or clouds and for the second you just use solid color.

I know you were just asking for help, but you took those signatures without permission sort of. The second one is mine.

She's not using them, so it is really taking?
I can always remove the image, if you like.

I say they made them first then used a color filter.

since joan is here complaining that someone is "using" her sig, she can tell us happy.gif but anyways if she made it why isn't it in her signature area? huh.gif

Sorry, I was just asking for help. I was just borrowing it for awhile, and I didn't mean to cause any trouble. I went ahead and took it down. Sorry, once again.

What is clouds? I understand you use the gradient tool, but how do you get it to three different colors as the first image?

.... PS users can't make three color gradients? o_0
But you can use noise gradients and then blur until it's smooth, which is what I sometimes do. Oh, and clouds is a filter.
Filters -> Render -> Clouds.
As for three color gradients, I usually just choose a gradient that originally had three colors and change the color buckets for it.
