I searched for a topic like this and I came up with nothing...I'm pretty sure there isn't a duplicate of this.

For me, I like working by myself. For example, if we have a project at school, and I could pick between doing it myself and choosing a friend to do it with, I'd do it myself. I like working on my own better because that way, I can be sure that I won't get into any arguments on how to do a certain thing, I don't have to be worried that the other person forgot about a deadline or did something I disagreed on, and I usually get a little mad in the end if my partner(s) do less work than anyone else. I also don't want to fail my team if I slip up. When I work by myself, there's only one person to count on-me. I like being credited wholly by myself, not as a small part of something. (I know that sounds arrogant, but I'm being honest.)

I'd want to work by myself. I don't know why, but I always feel like I'm not working well with a group. I always get left out and people always thinks my ideas are stupid. =\ so I'd work by myself .

i hate group projects most of the time. cause the quality and hard work that i put into the project isn't done the same by the other people. and then i get frustrated.

Usually I like working by myself because no one wants to follow my idea and it sucks. Because they think they are smarter than me doesn't me I can't shair my idea. That's why my teacher thinks I don't particapte really well with the group which makes me mad. Yeah I showed everyone how stupid I am and I was the girl who had the most absents in school. But still, cause of that doesn't mean I'm sooo stupid that I have bad ideas. -_-

I prefer group projects. The famed "two heads are better than one" rings true to me. So long as everyone in the group works efficiently, pressure can be alleviated and deadlines can be met. Of course we're not so lucky as to getting into a good group with other goal-oriented individuals like ourselves all the time. There's always going to be one or more lazy, leaching bums who do nothing to help and expect a good grade—but that's a risk I'm willing to take. Working with others gives me the motivation to push myself harder than when I work on my own, because I'll feel accountable for them and getting the grade we deserve.

What do I usually say/do to the ones who do absolutely nothing? First, I'd encourage them to participate, and if they persist with being lazy, I'd make sure the teacher knows.

I prefer working on things myself. As it stated above, when you work in groups, there may be problems, like disagreements in how you do the projects...

It depends I suppose. Sometimes I like working in groups because then we can divide up the work. And sure there may be some people that do nothing, but I would try to talk to them and tell the whole groups about it so we can sort of make that person do his/her share of the work. However, other times I like working by myself too.

For school projects, I prefer to work alone, because you always have the one a-hole in the group that doesn't want to do anything. It's not so much so I get "all the profit" from it, I just want the control.

I guess you can say I'm a control freak shifty.gif

I definitely prefer working by myself because most of the time when i'm working in a group, I end up doing all of the work anyway. Or, the people in my group do some work but it sucks so bad that i redo it because i'm the only one that cares. I'd rather have to depend on myself to get it done than 3 other people that may or may not do good work.

It really depends on the project and who my prospective group members would be.

For small projects, I'd rather do it myself. For huge projects, I'd like to split the work up between individuals. However, if those individuals prove to be exceedingly incompetent, I'd rather work alone.

I totally agree with that, however, sometimes some people just think it'd be for the better if you did it alone. With groups, sometimes, one person may work on the whole thing, while others slack off. If you did it alone, you wouldn't need another person to depend on (or you would slack off and fail whatever you're doing). But heh, I'm a pretty independent person myself, so yeah.

I usually like to work in a team so that if I don't understand something or can't think of anything, I can ask someone in my group. Plus I think it's more fun!
But sometimes I'll be in the mood to work by myself.

You're choices are a little warped.

My choice : I would work alone because I can't stand doing group works and that I am an individualist

if there even is such a thing.

But no. I just dont like working on group projects. and even then i volunteer to do all the work.

I like to work by myself, mostly because i'm not one to rely on others to finish their work especially if I know they won't do it.

I like to work by myself but we often are in groups.

i think that working by myself gets things done much faster. and some groups that i'm in sometimes, it ends up with one person or two people doing all the work and the other people just sit there.

Depends on the group that I'm assigned with.
Once, I was assigned with this one girl, she didn't accept any of my ideas. And in the end, she tells the teacher I didn't contribute anything towards the group.

I prefer to work alone for school projects.

It is such a hassle to think about who is in the same group as you (most likely my friends), and I hate to argue with others about some stupid idea.

It's a lot better to work alone so you can do your projects without affecting others and it's easier to control the time spent.

working by myself, not because of the recognition, profit, power, credit or whatever because i do not like depending on people. several times when i was placed in a group to work on a project, there was always problems.. people didn't want to corporate or they didn't want to do any work really. i think the real problem is, is myself. i tend to dictate, take over when things aren't getting done.

I like working by myself for reasons other than the ones you listed. I've had projects, ideas and customers stolen by group members. hammer.gif That sucked so I quit that job!
