erm evrytime i need to edit a picture or something and the layers palette is open...well it disapears evrytime i click somewhere else and its starting to get really annoying because i have to open it again evry 3 seconds. is there a way for it to stay there..?

it should stay there, well atleast mine does. Just make sure you have "layers" checked under window.

Drag it out of the tool tray thing into the main window...it should stay where you can see it.
