...of course you can colour over black dye...

If you want your coloured hair to match your roots, you could probably just colour it with a medium brown you buy at the drugstore, but if your hair's really light, you might consider bleaching the black. In that case, there are some products out there now that are specifically made for bleaching the hair a lighter shade.

5) I dyed my hair, and I'm not into it. Can I get rid of the shade at home?
You can-just try this recipe: In a plastic cup or bowl, mix one tablespoon of baking soda with a large dollop of your usual shampoo. Stir together well. Massage the mixture into your strands for about five minutes, rinse with warm water, then condition hair as usual, and evaluate the color. If the shade hasn't faded enought, repeat the process. Still now happy? You need a pro.

That's all I can do. I don't think its much help tho. wacko.gif

Find some quick (and legal) ways to earn cash, and get it done by a professional.

huh...? i don't get it...all you did was try to lighten your hair so how did your roots get really light?

you should probably just dye your hair all over again from the stuff in a box. my mom dyes my dad's hair every like 2 weeks or so, it doesn't seem too hard.
