yeah i heard that boys are too shy to ask girls out so sometimes the girls ask the boys. but im not entirely sure.

either way, it doesn't really matter to a lot of guys, but a lot of the time its that even though the guy technically makes the first move, really the girl lets on that she likes the guy, and sort of hints for it to happen

Does it really matter? I mean... in our bullshitty Middle School/ High School lives, "asking out" is just a matter of a question... or at least thats what it seemed like to me... and no one actually asked someone out to GO somewhere. For example, now, when I ask someone "out", I'd ask something like.... "Hey, wanna go watch (some movie) on (some date) with me?".. Or maybe I'm just... sleepy.

I don't think it should really matter. I'm not very old-fashioned when it comes to 'making the first move' and all, so it doesn't really matter to me. I guess just whichever person feels more comfortable doing so.
