Well, I bought a skirt from Off the Wall recently, it hits about an inch above the knee and it kinda looks like a tennis skirt. I really like it, and it feels awesome, especially in the hot summer weather, but then I got to thinking...
Do I look slutty?  Maybe I'm totally over reacting, but I know one of my friends parents wont' let her buy any skirts unless they're FULL LENGTH  Is her mom too over protective? Or am I the one who should be ashamed?

I wear skirts all the time ...i esp. love abercrombie ones ...i really don't know why you would think it's "slutty"... maybe you're just self-conscious about the feedback that you're getting from your friend's parents??? haha ..i dont know.. but they're fine. |

I don't think wearing skirts are slutty, unless they are really short... I wear skirts now (especially since it's summertime), and I don't think there's anything wrong with it.

Don't worry. I consider it slutty when it's practically showing off your vagina. My shortest skirt is about... 5 or 6 inches above the knee. It also depends on how you carry yourself while wearing the skirt. |

i think skirts aren't slutty unless even the person whos wearing it feels uncomfortable to sit, walk and do what they usually do.. I think your skirt isnt slutty while if you had one thats lets say shorter then half of your upper thigh.. then that may be just a tad.

It really depends how short the skirt is.. If it's one of those mini skirts that they have in Abercombie (I wish I can bomb that store...jk) then it is slutty but the skirt you described is and seems like a normal one.
I never wear skirts...last time I did was in Halloween when I posed as cheerleader shot dead by Greenday (that's something I made up). |

I've worn skirts before... Fully length? As in.. past the knee?
 It's not slutty, imo. The girls who play sports--they wear short skirts, does that make them slutty? You can wear whatever you want, as long as you feel comfortable wearing it. Full length skirts do look more classy, but sometimes it's really hot outside and short skirts are easier to wear. That, or short. :] It would be considered slutty (by me and a few others) if you were wearing a "thong" underwear and had it hanging out of your skirt and the skirt was so short that people could see the bottom of your butt hanging out. HEY, I've seen a girl do that once. Ah well, they can wear what they want lol.Plus, the skirt is ONLY an inch above the knees, so it's fine. ^_^ |

of course not. i don't necessarily agree with the "girls are supposed to wear skirts" option, but i don't think that just necessarily wearing a skirt automatically makes a girl slutty. it's the way she carries herself and the way she wears it that determines if she is "slutty" or not in each individual's perspective.

When the skirt is so short that if you bend over or something and even walking and someone can see something then its slutty. A little bit above the knee or something close to mid thigh I would think is fine.
