if you can remember long speeches and songs..memorizing numbers wouldn't  be that hard. maybe there are certain patterns in the numbering

so he can recite pi. what does that get him in life?

When your the only person in the world that can even remotely do what you did, its pretty special.

The decimals have NO pattern what-so-ever. The numbers continue on and on; they never end. So, what he did WAS cool. No patterns, numbers that go on forever, and memorizing 83,431 of them. I say that's pretty neat.

it has to have some pattern. even if the pattern is obscure

well if there was a pattern then he could keep going
like if it was .53981234539812345398123453981234 you would remember 53981234 and just repeat it over and over again...so there cant be a pattern

it's been proven that there is no pattern. you can always google "pi" and try to figure out a pattern for yourself, if you wish though. haha i doubt anybody would be that bored, however.

I'd never take the time to count to 83,431 let alone recite that many decimal places of pi.

That guy has skills.
