I dunno, job hunting is kinda one of those wierd things, it's either really easy, or really hard, I've never heard anyone say its neither. Guess it comes with experience?

i guess it can be kinda hard. depends what kind of job you want. my sister spent months trying to work at clothing stores like bebe and gap and etc and only one of them was interested in the end.
but she decided to work at abuelo's instead. and when i turn 16, i'm working there--because i've got a reference now ![]() otherwise-- i can't imagine trying to look for a job on my own. i've heard it's pretty hard... well, if you want a store-job. but if it's like busboy at a restaurant or something--it shouldn't be too hard ![]() |

My experiences with job hunting has been very difficult. Only because many employers want people with experience. But when the fall comes Im going to try harder, because it should be easier then.

Job hunting all depends on your approach. The first time I tried to get a job, IMPOSSIBLE!!!! Because I wasnt prepared. I didnt get hired anywhere because I just collected applications, and then filled them out at home. I then turned them in about 3 or 4 days later. Next time? I went prepared. I would reccomend, for a first job, if you are an outgoing person, to do retail, like at the mall. they are always looking for outgoing people, even if u have no experience. So what I did second time around, is write down all of my references (get thir permission first, and make sure they will give a positive reference!!!!!) then I went everywhere I wanted a job, with a pen, and filled out the application right in front of them. get the name and # of the manager, and call them back the next day. if the manager isnt there the day you apply, try waiting until they will be. its best to meet them first off, that way they know who you are when they look thru hirees. Always ask if they are hiring first. Because some places dont need staff, but they are accepting applications. This means that urs will prolly go in the trash lol. (I know this for a fact, because I was in charge of hiring when I was assistant manager a while back) SO yeah. The second time I went job hunting, I used this attack, and I got 2 call backs within the first few days. If you know someone at a store, thats even better, because they can really put in a good word for you. Make sure you are dressed nice if when u go in there, even if its for american eagle!!! Suck up and wear their brand if you can. They want people who not only will work well, but weill promote thier product. Now a days, its a lot easier for me to find a job, just because I have some retail experience. I only applied to one place and got the job. :D

Depends on the job you're looking for. Usually if you REALLY need a job you just go up to like a fast food place and ask if they are hiring. Most of the time they are and you get the job.

It's kinda hard depending on what kind of job you're looking for, and the experience you have. If you were looking for like a Mickey D's job, it's not that hard, hand in the application form, and if they have room for you, you're hired. However, jobs that require more skill and stuff are harder to find, and there's the whole experience catch. if you don't have experience they won't hire you, and if you don't get hired, you won't have experience

It depends...most of the time, your first job is the hardest to get because you have little to no experience. When I went job hunting this spring, I applied to two places: one that wasn't hiring, and one that was. I applied to the place that wasn't hiring just in case.

I'll be job hunting next summer. My friend's brother Matt applied for two jobs (Walgreens and Timberline) and he got the job at Walgreens one day, and then a week later he got the one at Timberline. He went for Timberline because it was closer to his house.
Random story, sorry. |

It's pretty easy for me since my dad has a couple of friend who own advertising companies. Whenever I need a job in the winter (we have vacation then instead of summer) I just call one of them and bang, I'm cutting leather shoes out of their backgrounds.

It's easy to find a low-paying job like sweeping hair in a salon or delivering pizza but it's hard [obviously] to find a high-paying job.

Worst shit ever. I hated it. And the fact I might have to do it a couple more times sucks. But job hunting in college might be easier with "work study" or "internships" and after graduating with a degree you can actually find a career not a job.

All the jobs that I want to apply at you have to be 18.
Ugh. Sears was ready to hand me a job but I was in school during that period so I couldn't work all the hours they wanted me to work. I applied again in the summer but the bastards messed up my application. I got screwed over big time.. I should of gotten the job when I had the chance. |

I agree with that it can be either hard or easy. Luckily for me, I got it easy since my cuzin already worked there.

Depends on what job you're hunting for. For me it's effing difficult because I'm looking for a CNA job buuuut the catch is about all CNAs are high school grads and got their certificate in college. I'm 17 and got my CNA like a couple of months ago in HS. The problem is the prereqs for about all the places hiring CNAs are for HS grads. Which sucks.
![]() ![]() Other jobs are way easier. Malls and restaurants are great places to job hunt. ![]() |
