well, many people keep getting annoyed, that alot of us are doing "fake rap disses" in the writing forum. As though, we do understand their point & opinoin, it IS called the writing forum, not just for poetry. But since many desire to get mad at ME and OTHER's, because the disses are "trash" as some say, I say we should put up a Lyrical Forum. The Disses aren't to be real member bashing, but we do it to make people laugh. None of it is real. We'd like the Lyrical Forum just for us to write our own lyrics, even disses. So then their wouldn't be a disagreement or debate whether or not we post our Raps into the writing section. Many would think it's quite pointless, as though it is not. the Writing forum, could be for Poetry and thoughts. When the Lyrical Forum could be to any who felt like writing lyrics =]

give it some thought eh?

This topic's already been made:

Edit//

Well... Maybe not. Since this brings "lyrical forum" up more. I just don't see why we'd make a lyrical forum for you, Jason and maybe a few other people.

It's a good idea but I don't think there would be enough people writing in there. Maybe like, 15 members - tops.

^ Indeed, although I would love a Lyricism forum, I know already that there is not enough people for it. I used to mod the Lyricism forum on jusun's old site though, that was fun when i organized tournys.

Exactly. Sounds like a neat idea, but there'd be like.. 10 topics there. Made by only a few people. 7 at max.

Hm, it would have to be a general lyric subforum, not just rap.

Eh, I don't really have an opinion on it. If a lot of people want it, go ahead; if not, oh well.

point well made

actually, i think it would be better to just let them stay in writing. or if people are desperate for keeping things seperate, which i think is snobby, but ah well, then it definately ought to be a subforum in writing as opposed to a seperate forum

but no. there is no need to set up a seperate forum to stop people whining. introduce the revolutionary concept of 'not clicking on a topic you dont like'

An unnessary prod, but you all know I've never been good at keeping quiet: You'd know all about 'snobby,' wouldn't you? _dry.gif

Anyway. You know. You 'rappers' keep defending your dissing raps (and the like) as not member bashing because it's 'fun and games.' If it's for fun, why should you not keep it within the forum games? .....

And don't tell me not to click your stupid topics. I haven't done so since the last reply I made.

^ Good for you then. I don't understand why you can't just keep ignoring all of our "pointless" threads then, you said it yourself you've been doing it. I don't understand why it's so hard to just skip over a thread, it's so much more logical than taking away something entirely.

And why can't you just post them in humor or forum games, if it's funny and a game? Obviously, they belong there more.

^ Honestly, I don't care where it goes. That, I have no problem with. If you can get the admins to say "okay, this is what we think of rap battles and so we feel that it belings in such and such forum" then im fine with that. but that has yet to occur.

But unlike you, some people are trying to rid of them in its entirety and that is what I am standing my ground for.

Well really, the admins don't need to make that decision. I could make that decision myself and go move them all now and it wouldn't be a problem. That's something mods deal with; which i am. Er, yea. So, the people that make that decision (me and other mods) have said this. So why are you still arguing?

I have come to the conclusion that the people who want these topics in forum games or humor are just rap haters. What if a member wrote a really creative, deep, thoughtful, hard hitting diss track to another member? A rap that if it was submitted as a poem, would get praise and admiration. Is a rap less of "writing" than a poem?

The objective of a diss track is to clown on your opponent, degrade him and humiliate him. It is meant to draw laughs but it is not "humor". It is still writing and as long as lighthearted poems are allowed to be in "writing", raps should be allowed too.

Forum games is a joke. If the only place you can post rap disses are in forum games, then how about a topic in forum games called "sad poems". Or maybe another one called "love poems". I don't think you guys would want that either.

A subforum for songwriting and rap battles in writing is also a bad idea. I can only think of four or five members that write songs and raps anyways. Once again, I don't think you would agree with a subforum called in writing for poems.

It's simple, if you don't like reading the rap battles in writing, then don't click them. It's the same with every forum. I don't enjoy reading about rock music in Entertainment, so I'm not clicking on the topics. I'm not suggesting that there should a subforum for Rock Music in Entertainment, because that's rediculous.

The writing forum is fine as it is.

I have absolutely no problem with hip-hop and rap music, so stop telling me I do. People keep saying it's a joke and just for fun and it's funny blahblahblah, so why the heck shouldn't I suggest it goes with the other jokes? If it's not serious, why should it go in a serious forum? Sure, if someone would serious, it would be fine being in Writing.

BUT ALL OF YOU SAID IT WAS A JOKE. Obviously, if it's such a joking matter, it should go with all the other jokes.

It may be funny but where would a humorous short story or poem go then? To put either of those in humor would be insulting to both the writer and the reader.

It may be writing, but if it's meant to be a joke and get laughs, then it should go with the other topics made in that manner.

If someone was meaning it as an artistic venture, not a "battle", then being in Writing would be OK. But rap battles are not for artistic means. If I wrote a paragraph insulting someone, that would not be considered an artistic writing piece. Neither are raps aimed at humiliating and insulting someone.
