ISO: Dynamically modding the subscription list, organizing and dealing with new entries Options

I'm looking for some tips on how to modify the subscriptions list normally on
the left side of my page in a way that would permit new subscriptions to be
tagged onto the end of the list.

That is, ideally, I'd like to have real/simulated folders for my subscriptions,
and when I subscribe to new pages, just have them added to the bottom until I
sort them out. Right now, I've seen one xanga that plays with the folder idea, but
everything appears to be hard coded, which means new subscriptions don't appear on the list at all.

anyone with any ideas? I'm really puzzled.
