it's my dog's 8th birthday today (starting midnight)... and he's turning... what? 56 years old in dog years? daamn.

usually, every year, we give gogo (my dog) a cake and everything--the works and even sing happy birthday to him lol. haha yeah. we're special like that. don't hate.

so it had me thinking. do you guys usually celebrate your pets' birthdays? like--i don't necessarily mean an all-out birthday cake or anything, but like, at least something different?

if so, how? happy.gif

aww, a doggie birthday! tongue.gif

i don't have any pets but my aunt goes crazy on her dog's birthday! she gets her gifts, a cake, a birthday hat...some candles. & i have to go to the party. she has no husband/kids so the dog is pretty much like her family. tongue.gif

Happy birthday to your dog!
Yes, I do celebrate the birth of my pets.
I even do with my fish, I tend to give them a new ornament or feed them a very expensive food.

everyone should celebrate their pets birthdays! I mean, a pet is a part of your family, correct? my cat, and my two dogs are apart of my family so yeah. well, I don't really remember my cat's birthday (Princess), but we just did August. sometime in August tongue.gif. my two dogs also have birthdays and we celebrate them too! Lady is almost 6 or 5 and Sugar is almost 4.. I think.

I sort of did. I gave my cat wet cat food and treats. And I spend a lot of time with him and let him stay in the house the entire day. Yeah.
July 25th would be his 8th birthday.
And he went missing on October 18th, 2003.

I wish that I had a pet whose birthday to celebrate...

I used to have a rabbit, but I don't recall taking note of his birthday...and I had to give it away...:(

Well, happy birthday to Gogo. :D May he live long and prosper.

Yup, my dog's birthday is on my birthday, September 3rd, Shiloh's (bird) is on my mom's b-day (may 22nd), Cookiedough (hamster) has his birthday on October 2nd, and Emily (bird) celebrates on May 10th. For Shiloh and Tibs (dog) since their birthday was right around ours we just changed their's by a couple days so they could have cake and ice cream, etc. on the same day we do. And, all of the animals get a little present (usually treats) on their birthdays..they are a part of the family ya know.

Fish aren't stupid, I'm not sure but I read somewhere they're a tad bit more intelligent than humans!
It's natural for fish to eat food whenever they see it, most likely because in the wild, they build up lots of food into their bodies for energy to get away from predators or even survive for two weeks without food.
Think about it mang.

Wow, your dog is pretty old. Congratulations.
As for my pretty little neon fishes, I don't know when their birthdays are. I suppose I'll celebrate it this time next month, since I got them around last week or so.

Not really celebrate. I mean we buy them stuff but that's it. We always know when they are though. Kinda feel bad for myself just thinking about we don't celebrate it. One is like 21 and the other is 70. ermm.gif

No, I don't even know the date that my hamster was born on. Petsmart never told us. They only told us that it was about 3 months old when we got it.
