background help, how do you make it fill the screen?

ok, i have the picture and it's already hosted, but everytime i add it to my layout, it sits on the top left hand side of the screen all small even though i've increased the amount of pixels. i want the picture to be a full screen background..how do i do that? plz help...

ok, but i don't want it to repeat..i just want it to be one big picture filling the whole screen...how do i do that??

^ make sure the image size of the picture is greater than your resolution..

does that mean it has to be more than 1600x1200 pixels??

^Well since you are probabably the only one who uses that resolution i would say at least have it 1024x768px

i tried that already, and doesn't work..i'm sorry, this may sound stupid, but what other resolutions are there??

i keep doubling my pic's pixels and photobucket can't seem to contain it, it's up to 6701 x 5351 px....where else can i post the picture for free?

try http://www.imageshack.us but i do recomend you change the height and width of the picture, in photoshop or somthing, because you're filesize may be to big.

You might want to consider a small pattern that will just repeat, for three reasons:
  1. It's less busy. An actual picture in the background will attact more attention than your content.
  2. A full-sized picture will take a long time to load, especially on a dialup connection.
  3. There's no standard size you can pick. Most users have a resolution of 1024x768, but some (such as me) might have 1280x1024, 1280x960, 1600x1200, or some other weird resolutions, especially if they are on a laptop with a wide-screen display.

yeah, i think i'll just make stripes and repeat them...looks pretty good, thanx!
