Does the camera really add 10 pounds to a person's body?

Just wondering, since everyone else thinks it does.

However depending on the lens you could look wider.

i agree with the whole celebrity thing...probably because most people will never meet that particular celebrity in their life (unless its oprah) so they just say the camera adds 10 lbs because the viewer will never actually see them up close.

Lmao. That works. But there are still a few stars that look anorexic on camera. The camera adds a few pounds on me as well pinch.gif I think it's because it captures the light in a weird way to make you look rounder. I suppose it depends on the camera...?

actually, being a person who has her picture taken a lot now, it really does. When I met destinys child, they were a hell of a lot skinnier than they look in pictures. Michelle looked anorexic. But in pics she looks a little more normal. But it definately makes you look bigger. Thats why celebs are sooooo skinny, cuz every where they go, they gain 10 pounds cuz they on video or having their picture taken.

I think just regular camera's have a way of adding pounds. If it's like dark and you use flash, theres like no shadow on you because the flash is that bright; leaving no shadows to show your curves. Or vice versa, too much shadow creates a statue of liberty effect, the shadows streakign from the sides bring more attention to those areas.

BLAH,,,i'm just babbling

^___^

i think they do. oh yeah and the magnification of the lenses. All lenses are different, one just might a little too concave, or too convex. meh......

what do i know

just a physics student........

lenses have aberrations:chromatic aberration can change color/sharpness; coma aberration which affects images at the edge of a frame; Spherical aberration can distort an image.

Only when camera has a sperical aberration can it make you look 10lbs heavier

Girl please. u bet it was. that was one of the best days of my life. That was back when my family was rich tho. But yeah, seeing as I'm the huge dc3 fan, I had to win lol. It was actually a suprise. I didnt know about it till I got out of school. I've seen them in concert 4 times, 3 times front row, plus I saw beyonce front row. Too bad now I'm too poor to go to their tour this year. Oh well. BUt yeah, the camera adds 10 pounds cuz they all looked so much skinnier than they do on film. Even beyonce. of course, that was back in the days of bootylicious, when she was a bit bigger, but still...

I do modeling and trust me the camera can make you look soo much heavier depending on the angle the picture/video is taken from.
