I've been depressed... over my dog I lost.
 He disappeared last Saturday. My whole family left the house around 12 and came back at 11 and he was gone. We left him in the backyard as usual and there was no way he would have gotten out. Actually, there is one way -- we live right next to a canyon. He's too short to jump out the fence without help and there are a lot of plants blocking the way, but it is possible.And also, we have racoons and coyotes in the canyon. Do you know if those animals eat dogs? A hawk landed in our backyard a few days ago. My sister said it was 'cause it ate my dog and it was looking for more but I doubt he could've carried my dog away  Have you ever lost a dog (or cat, or bird, or whatever pet you have..)? If it came back, how long did it take? Oh, and do you think racoons or coyotes might have eaten him? Hmm. |

Awww. I'm sorry that your dog is lost
I don't a raccoon would eat a dog...but maybe a coyote =/ Good luck on finding him!

My friends cat ran away and had sex with a stray. Then it came back and had kittens and i didn't get one :(

Yeah. I posted signs up. On one of the streets next to mine, there were already two dogs missing so I had to squish my poster on the mailbox somewhere.

I don't think raccoons could eat a dog, although raccoons have been known to swipe at fish before, but I'm very sorry about your dog. Hope you'll find him soon!
I've lost my hamster, Benjy, a couple of years ago. He's an escape artist o_o. Anywho, I tried searching for him, but I never found him, and I think he's dead. Poor Benjy.

^ I've had a pond and raccoons ate all my koi fish so they're pretty familiar with my backyard. Geez, living by a canyon sucks.

Sorry to read about your dog. Hopefully he will be found. I lost a dog before (actually I think he just up and ran off). I have also had a dog stolen but we got him back.

I'd never leave a dog in the backyard when I live near a canyon. Most likely I say that your dog has been eaten?

I don't think coyotes eat dogs lol. I mean they are almost the same size. Not eat, maybe had a huge fight with each other.
Anyways, I lost a dog name Tina. I didn't care about it all because that dog is MADD STUPID AND CRAZY! She was still a baby too. And was an annoying dog. I didn't really care.... it also never came back to us too. I bet Tina is inside the Pound. PUHAHAHAHAHA |

I had a cat run away once. He was gone almost three weeks before he came home. I suppose he wanted to travel a bit..
I've heard that dogs that are not neutered tend to have the urge to runoff in search of a mate. Maybe your dog is off looking for a girlfriend?  As far as the coyotes, I wouldn't worry about them. We constantly have coyotes on our property and our dogs have not been eaten yet. I hope your doggie comes home safe and sound soon. |

Once my bird flew away, but returned home after like 15 minutes. Only bird that has done that. The rest of my birdies that have flown away never returned.

Well, I don't know. I know he's not looking out for a girlfriend 'cause he's neutured. Haha. He's only 10 pounds.. pretty small compared to a coyote. My parents really think he's dead now, though
 But ohwell. He'll comeback, hopefully.

Raccoons don't eat or attack dogs. They attack garbage cans. Coyotes don't eat dogs unless they're desperate. Perhaps they attack? As for the hawk, err... Anyhoo i'm sorry about your doggiee.. hope he comes home soon

^ He's a mutt. My mom's friend (she gave him to us) said he was half pomeranian and half cocker spaniel but my vet says he's terrier mix.. but he's something. haha.
i remember watching the news a few years ago and a dog was attacked by a coyote before, but it was a bit far from where i'm at. hm. |

^ i hope hope hope he's not dead.
i searched in the canyon again today but not much (it was too hot). a long time ago, someone in my street lost their dog and they found it in the canyon with bite wounds all over it's body (most likely from coyotes). and it was a pretty big dog. and if that dog went through that much, then my dog is for sure dead. X'( |

Yea, just like yesterday my dog got out and ended up kinda far away, I was so scared. I wouldn't be able to live without my puppy dog :(
